Ther was this coloured lady in MTN Business cloting (Started in "R") that knew absolutely nothing about holding a line. At about 20km she just kept on pushing in front of people in the bunch. Not even showing that she is coming. At 65km she came past us and pushed in front of me almost clipping my front wheel. (She just shook her head as if it was my fault). When I shouted to keep her line and just ride like a person she just through SIGNS... (a real cycling B*TCH)

Sometimes I think by myself when I pass medics in a race that these are the people that are down and screaming of pain, because they are the cause of all the other peoples pain and somhow they never get thrown off

What was the actual problem?

That she was coloured

That she was female

That she had MTN kit on

That she could stick with your group

OR

That she kept pushing in at the front?

By the way, how does a person ride?

I understand what you saying Cycling Major. I have also experienced a few like that. This is a generalization but from my experiences the men, in general, seem to ride a bit more considerately than some women, in general. The women just ride, the men indicate.

Sounds like you dont like girls riding better than you?

Personally having a fit gorgeous lady riding ahead of me is great, much better than looking up at a slow fat hairy sweaty male slob...

perhaps you should take up chess... far less stressful?

I don't get it guys. How has this turned into a race issue AGAIN? Cycling Major has given us a description of the person. She was:

* Coloured (ie not white or black or indian)

* A woman (ie not a man)

* Wearing an MTN Business kit (Yellow kit presumably)

* Was in R group

If I had also seen this person and noticed her dangerous actions, the above description would have allowed me to concur. So take your comments indicating that Cycling Major is a racist and sexist somewhere else. I don't know CM from a bar of soap but people read things that just aren't there.

Some of you would have seen my posts about my friend who was knocked off his bike by someone not holding their line during Sunday's race. He has broken the neck of his femur and stands a good chance of having to have a hip replacement at worst or 6 months rehab and recovery at best. And just because one total idiot doesn't know how to ride in a bunch.

I too noticed a cyclist wearing a blue top weaving in and out of the bunch with no regard for her fellow cyclists yesterday and in fact did something I usually detest - I shouted to her to hold her line. Because she was a HAZARD to all the cyclists around us. Yes, she was a woman, and she was white. So what?!? Does this make me a sexist? If you are acting like an idiot, your sex or your skin colour has no bearing.

Do what my friend used to do...go infront of them and switch that #$%@ there used to be this PPA development people, first 5km they all in the bunch changing and stuff like vommit in a tumble dryer...eventually after the idiot let a few guys fell my friend got gatvol....almost letting him fall he went infront the development rider and switched his ass at 40km/h...

I agree I hate it if people cant keep their line, but thumbs up for the girl keeping up :)

male or female...doesn't matter, just hold your line or sit in the back!

um, you have brakes dont you?

If someone doesn't look properly and moves across I have 3 choices:

1: brake, move aside and let them in

2: place my hand on their hip to let them know they are encroaching on my space

3: stick to my position, shout obscenities and dumb things like 'Hold your line', and possibly go down hard.

I agree Scooterza.

In A bunch we had a guy with a pony tail. Just after the exit to the N14 someone in the bunch shouted at him something along these lines, "That is about the 25th time that you have done that this race and soon someone is going to take you by the pony tail and throw you in the bush." This same pony tailed guy almost took me out at the left-right just before the on ramp to the N14.

Umm, I can't see a single post in this thread which has made this a race issue - stop trying to find drama where there is none dude.
