Pantani: eeeeeuuww! LOL (maybe too much info).

Just think, if you get tired, the shoes might start peddling by itself!

But seriously: Nothing wrong with 2nd hand shoes. There's enough anti-bacterial sprays & powder on the market to kill just about any germ.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago, one of the hubbers was selling a awesome pair of Sidi's and I for one would not buy used shoes - But they were like new and looked like they came straight out of the box.

or' date=' you went away for a mtb race, somehow you broke or tore the one shoe.

Another mrtbiker got a spare pair of shoes and offer it to use.

you say no, i rather go home?

Obviously in an emergency I would borrow anything and be very grateful for it. If I damaged my front wheel in the 94,7 and some guy walked up to me with the worst, heaviest, (no brands mentioned hereBig%20smile) wheel that fitted my bike I would happily take it.. does not mean that I would voluntarily buy the wheel when I walk into a cycle shop.

i'm with the guys who say second hand is ok. much as i'd loooove to have the money to buy things new, there are times when it just isn't possible. also, why let a good pair of shoes go to waste if the current owner doesn't want them anymore.

in the line of second hand goods and comparisons... are we all still involved with/married to our first partner? nothing gets more intimate than that now does it?

Geese chaps, you can buy new shoes for R600.00 and pedals for R275.00. Or rather buy second hand pedals for that matter, but the second hand shoe thing, Not the most hygenic ideas on the market.

Nah...i'm more than fine with buying second hand shoes - my first pair of road shoes were second hand (although they only did 160 odd kms) and i also recently bought a pair of well used mtb shoes as i'm just getting into the mtb thing and didn't have money to spend on shoes. I'm more than sattisfied - it doesn't bother me in the least.

In my life i've only bought one pair of new cycling shoes...

Nellie I have a suspicion that there are a few guys here that would buy your old shoes from you... Wink for more than double the price of new ones LOL
