  2. Once youโ€™ve had a dual boiler machine itโ€™s hard to get used to anything else
  3. i can probably turn my breville on and make 5 pro flat whites in the time the E61 type machines (Rocket/lelit etc) have needed just to heat up ... are you turning the steam on straight after pulling a shot?
  4. I was doing the "homer disappearing into the bush" gif when I saw what some okes would sacrifice for a headset bearing service ๐Ÿ‘€
  5. you were on the road, had your phone in your hand, thugs got suspicious, thinking it was a trap so didnt want to take that risk, besides you move too fast for them anyway.
  6. Ruben doesnt always post on bike hub but when he does he makes sure to reply on a 2-year-old-post ๐Ÿ˜
  7. Currently 77th in GC, as of Stage 5 https://www.giroditalia.it/en/atleti/hatherly-alan/

  9. Ride was logged at 5:14pm, starting in the CBD.
  10. In 5 year, mine has not been touched.๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  11. At a current rate of one post every 20 months, can expect a reply by Jan 2028. He is "online" and following the thread, so maybe there will be some positive feedback before then and we can downgrade the status from "disgusted" to "mildly miffed". If I've learnt anything from this thread, I clearly don't service my headset bearings as much as I should.
  12. We keeping thread up and going for his part
  13. These looks nice and warm, i still have an old pair of decathlon gloves that you don't get anymore and uses it with liner gloves and my hands is never cold, maybe the first 15min but after that nice and cozy. https://bellgear.co.za/collections/mechanix-cold-weather-work-gloves/products/fastfit-coldwork?variant=40187856289947
  14. Cold Storage gloves. Around R60-80 from a PPE store. Got a nice grippy texture and super warm. Bonuses: you could wear a liner if it gets baltic, and mine are high vis
  15. Around what time yesterday did this happen? I am also still commuting into the CBD 2-3 times per week and yesterday I passed through that section around 16h30 - 17h00. I stick to the road and wide awake as any and every pedestrian is a suspect for me.
  16. Yup, my new Anthem has it and I'll do everything in my power to stop water getting into that headset, from never riding it in the rain to wiping the bars clean with a rag rather than using a hosepipe. Quite possibly the shittest design idea on the planet. Aesthetically pleasing but a practical nightmare.
  17. I cannot fathom why anyone in their right mind would want through headset cable routing, but a birdy told me that Titan Racing did market research and found that the average punter ( ie someone who knows nothing about bikes or fixing them) would rather buy a bike that looks more aero or neat or something and has terrible to work on cable destroying headset routing. Thanks for nothing "average punter" and possibly the OP too.
  18. iiisssshhhhh no man guys!!! where was the old days where you mounted the garmin on your handlebar stem. Problem solved....... OOOoooo wait, the head units got bigger now. OOoooooooo wait, I got Forza mount on my bike to. Spotted a mount the other day that actually slides, so you mount your garmin 1040 and then it slides it back closer the handlebar mount point to give extra 200watts for the 126gram you added with the 1040 ๐Ÿ˜›
  19. I'm surprised your OCD doesn't explode when it sees your spelling....๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. Frustrating lack of solutions from the city it seems, it's a big enough issue that's not seeing much commitment beyond hyperbole. Meanwhile things like the Belleville Velodrome gets thrown under the proverbial bus.
  21. You just woke an OCD tick I only get evenings. 1 brake cable keeps pusing my light slightly off centre... My OCD got to a point where I now bought a Forza stem mount to keep me sane...
  22. I had to choose between the Giant Revolt and the Merida .... the Merida looked good with the internal cables, but I am not buying into that maintenance nightmare. I am using the FORZA out-front mount for the Garmin, with the light below it. It has a slight upward angle on the install, keeping everything clear above the cables.
  23. My Giant Revolt has external cables mechanical shifting thus brake and gear cables. I mount my front light under my Garmin upfront mount. Internal cables would have been much easier as the cables are in the way of the light and cause rattles sometimes / can sometimes also intervene with steering . But i can replace a headset bearings very easily
