ok now that I'm infront of a PC Firstly congrats. Secondly, you dont need every single gadget that says baby on it. You also dont need the biggest and best of everything. But, if the plan is to have more kids down the line, for the stuff you land up using the most, make sure to get something that you can keep and use for the next kid too. Be aware, if it says baby or wedding the price goes up 10 fold, there are a number of items you can get that are not baby branded that will do the job.
  2. Nope. Haven’t heard anything further.

This is the same advise I give to all first time parents. you will get tons of solicited and unsolicited advise, enough to confuse the crap out of you. Remember all of it, but use only what works for you. everykid is the same, in that they are different, and every family is unique. What works for one won’t work for another.
  4. this thread did not go in the direction I thought it would
  5. blame the auditors
  6. Wait until you're an ABSA customer. They seem to only offer a digital card, which is the same as your physical card only you can stop certain transactions (i.e. online purchases) at will.
  7. speak to me about this virtual card ?
  8. same thing I'm using. Love it. Havent carried a normal wallet for about 6 years now.
  9. For a physical card, keep it in a wallet that wont let the card be scanned through it. On the iphone, you dont need to unlock first, double tap the power button, face id and you're ready to spend. On the post ride split bill. What is this post ride stop you guys are talking about ?
  10. motus oprandi up here has been a spotter car with a getaway bakkie. The syndicate (or at least part of it) were recently caught. Mozambiquans sending the goods over the border. They were targeting bicycles and motorbikes.
  11. I'm not so sure about that. Based on the exact times and locations of bike jackings on my exact route its way to coincidental to just be opportunistic attacks.
  12. That hot exhaust must get interesting
  13. is that why I sometimes see people rode with themselves. Makes sense now. I dont give any kudos to those I like to give kudos to activities where I know it wasnt easy. i.e. the weather was crap or the "athlete" is dealing with an injury or the like.
  14. good motivation to train harder and finish comrades in under 5hours.
  15. Also initially re-joined to keep a log of my activities. Also using ProBikeGarage to keep track of maintenance on components etc. I do occasionally enjoy the social aspect, although I dont follow many people. Occasionally get annoyed with kudos from random people, but not enough to go full private yet. I do like that so many 3'rd party apps link to it. So as a central db to store activities its great. I'm not particularly fond of the Garmin Connect interface, so default to checking Strava and 3'rd party apps for my stats.
  16. a big jug and 6 straws, thats all you need. But this is cape town, they'd probably charge R10 per straw and R50 for the jug of warm tap water.
  17. Did some more measuring on Saturday. Landed up dropping the seat height 2mm and moving the saddle forward. Kept angle 100% the same. At the halfway point of my ride yesterday I decided to bring the nose of the saddle up a touch. Only went up 1deg to test. 70km Zone 1 ride and I felt very comfy again. Less stretched out, no lower leg pains. Now that I'm sitting further back on the saddle I can probably bring the nose up a few more deg. After yesterdays adjustment its currently nose down 4.5 deg.
  18. Eish Heal up quick mate
  19. when you're having to buy them bikes every few years because the damn kids keep growing it becomes an expensive exercise to buy expesnive bikes each time. We've been lucky so far that the gap between my 2 girls is just big enough that they almost grow out of their bikes at the same time, so buy the eldest one a new bike and pass her old one down. this allows for buying a slightly better bike. Love the value for money the Titans offer, good quality. We currently have 2 Titans in the fleet, recently sold the 14" Titan and added a 26"
  20. Same recipe today, but white sugar instead of brown. Slightly less sweet and it didn’t feel like I had a sugar crash later.
  21. Nice to see the sun on my morning ride for a change.
  22. Its on my to do list. Most definitely want to do this
  23. clearly my definition of affordable is different
  24. saw this on twitter. first reported as a helli crash and then corrected to light aerie. Sounded like occupants are ok, but not much detail.
  25. Pity its not in my budget this year. Have been wanting to do it based on reports here in the past.
