  1. I think I need a new bike sponsor
  2. they need to make bigger CO2 bombs for e-bikes, with a fire extinguisher head.
  3. I have an orange ciovita top that i wear
  4. it was entirely not unpleasant this morning, even though the entire ride was done before the sun climbed up to the horizon. I actually over dressed expecting a rather chilly ride.
  5. I'm as far from a coach as you can get, but all my reading has told me that skipping rest days is more detrimental than doing less mileage/time. I'm sure someone with heaps more knowledge than me will chirp in here soon
  6. Check the watch on the perp? Is that not a fitness watch? So not the first time he has done this?
  7. I use ear wax, takes a while to get enough stock, but if you ask nicely people will give you some for free.
  8. So what you're saying is I should go for a 6 cup if I'm making for 2 people most of the time ?
  9. just be prepared to cut the tassels off before installation
  10. right, so, gas stove installed. I'm not contemplating ditching the nespresso machine and getting a Moca Pot. is it necessary to go for the bialetti or will a cheaper alternative work just as well ? And then size, 90% of the time its just the wife an I, but I wouldnt want to be making to cups at a time when we have guests over. I also think that if I'm always doing 2 cups to rather get 1 size up to leave a bit of room. Would making 2 cups in a 4 cup pot be just as good ? There is no budget for this, it will land up being a on the whim purchase, but I'd like to have the info at hand when the whim comes along. I also wont be grinding beans for now, will buy coffee grounds to start with.
  11. we cant even get traffic lights synchronized properly to ease congestion, I highly doubt something like that could be successfully implemented here.
  12. thanks Frosty, will take a gander at the video tonight on wifi
  13. I'm confused. Obviously not good at reading nutrition tables. For those using 32Gi Race Pro, I see the carbs per serving are pretty much the same as Endure, so how is Race Pro better ?
  14. This I'm not a pro, cycling is something I fit in around everything else I need to do. If the reason I'm feeling knackered after a ride is because I'm not fueling my body correctly then its an easy thing to fix.
  15. No pics. Did my normal Airport Loop in reverse. Left home with clear blue skies, wind started to pick up 12km in, by the time I rounded the airport and was headed home into the headwind I could see the mist rolling in from the South East, 2km later visibility was down to about 100m (20m if I left my fogged up glasses on). Still better than lying in bed.
  16. Will definitely try upping the intake then, as I do sometimes find myself drained after even a low intensity ride.
  17. I use GT Gel, comes in a bottle that you decant into a smaller sippy bottle to take with you on the ride. Works out cheaper than buying sachets. And yes, you are probably right, but having brekkie first would mean getting out of bed even earlier. My body is so used to riding without eating first that I was very surprised, when on my long ride last week, we stopped for breakfast 50km in and my body did not complain about getting going again after that.
  18. I'm obviously not doing this right. Any ride under 3 hours I dont eat first, but I'll have a gel after 1 hour. And another at 2 hours. The longer the ride the better the chance of me using a sports drink with carbs in it. Rides under 1 hour are done with nothing before or during, only water. But I did a 6.5 hour zone 1/ zone 2 ride last weekend where it appears I did not get enough carbs in according to those that know. I was still not recovered a week later.
  19. everybody knows coca cola, yet they still advertise
  20. That plus the x amount of time free trial that automatically debits your account when the free trial is up.
  21. Everything you say is true and is happening. Sales people under pressure to move stock, so they sell with low to zero profit. Salesman leaves dealership for a new one as he is not earning money. Rinse and repeat. Why, because pressure is put on from above to move metal at all costs. As recently as 2 years back a number of dealerships in gauteng for the brand I'm with closed their doors. Why? They were selling cars at a loss, undercutting the competition, but this is not sustainable. Problem is, as long as there are dealerships willing to give the product away for free, customer will be unwilling to pay for the product. We see it everyday.
  22. actually BK will give you a free burger if you complete the survey on your receipt. I know, its not what you meant. I also use a similar analogy when people want discount on cars, there is an advertised price, you dont walk into BK, see the price of a whopper burger and ask for discount, so why do that on cars ?
  23. is this not because you have strava connections that have joined these challenges ? I only seem to see challenges when someone I'm connected with has joined them
  24. whilst you're not completely wrong, you also need to take into account that on a bicycle there is a greater need for efficiency and lower weight, both of these cost money in R&D and exotic materials made from the frozen condensation droplets on a unicorns fart.
