  1. nicely done, I've also used road bike bar tape on the plastic handles of my daughters school suitcases, They have those horrible plastic Cadi box school cases, the carry handle has square edges so it was hurting their hands. Will try and take a pic when I get home later.
  2. We were gifted a gas stove/oven combo in April. Everyone told us how crap a gas oven is to cook and bake in, but we are finding the total opposite and are really enjoying it. Even though my DIY skills could do it, we opted to get a certified install done with the gas bottle sitting in a room just next to the kitchen, because we opted for an "in cupboard"installation" we went with a 9kg bottle. We really use the stove and oven alot, so a bottle lasts us around 1.5 months. And the convenience of being able to continue cooking when the lights goes out trumps anything else. This weekend we had a birthday party for my 2 daughters, wife baked cookies and did roasts and everything turned out superb.
  3. First machine wash and the silicone strip on the one leg has come off. But the silicone on the Vye bibs came off very early on too, luckily my legs are fat enough to hold the bib leg in place so the silicone is not really needed.
  4. Everyday bib is a Vye Mirage. this has about 10 000km of saddle time. Long distance bib is Ciovita Corsa 1 . Those are the ones I'm comparing to, I have other bibs but they are only good for sub 1 hour rides.
  5. I bought the ones they have on special currently at CL. (Amplify Velocity) As per one of the other comments, a bit skeptical about the chamois and gel inserts, but for R500 on special I thought i'd get them for my daily rides anyway. I've done one ride so far with about 2 hours of saddle time. I did feel a slight bit more pressure than with my other bibs, but it could just be because the gel needs some seat time. Let see.
  6. Nope. Passed a group heading east on Heidelberg road near leondale
  7. You’re halfway through the year and about to hit my full year targets. One day I’ll have more time to ride.
  8. I thought I passed you guys going in the opposite direction, but strava says probably not. I suffered with the wind on the way home, but still had a great ride out to your neck of the woods
  9. CL has Wattz bibs for R499.
  10. and dripping hands after
  11. Did anyone see the solar farm during the TdF yesterday ?
  12. its better but there are still exposed wires
  13. and of course the perfect tar
  14. but its not just your install, I'm yet to see pics of a neat install. I'm sure they exist, I've just not seen them.
  15. nice. I just can never understand why these installations are never done neatly. My OCD goes crazy when I see these installations.
  16. Pirelli Cinturatos, first set did 7500 km before I retired them, bald, lots of little cuts, but no leaks. Current set on 4500km, I've just recently has to patch the rear from the inside, it seems to be holding. But looking at the tread I dont think this one will make it to 7500km before being bald. Maybe I'm putting down more watts.
  17. oof, got a 12:00 vehicle hand over scheduled. Customer better be quick and on time, I need to catch the highlights from yesterday.
  18. I watched until about 30km to go, then left for home to be greeted by load shedding. I'll need to find the highlights of the last 30km
  19. Active Topics is showing no results
  20. I'd like to think they were riding e-bikes, but the reality is I only produce a small percentage of what they do.
  21. Thanks, I'll flip the channels here at work at 13:00
  22. 2 things * Checking Supersport schedule I see it starts late today, is that correct ? * With Strava having TdF fever I started following a few riders. Their rest day rides would have me in the red trying to keep up.
  23. I'm keen to give orangeseal a go, will get a bottle as soon as I have funds. Is there really a big difference between the endurance and the normal one ?
  24. you should have played the lotto that day
  25. What we used to do in our boating days. Before the trip we would spray the engine and other bits and pieces that we didnt mind being slippery but wanted to protect from corrosion with a mix of petrol and 2-stroke oil. The idea was the petrol thinned the oil so you could spray it on, then the petrol would evaporate and leave the oil behind. Things like trailer wheel bearings were stripped and regreased before and after. Propellors were removed, splines greased and put back before and after. Everything, literally everything was rinsed off with fresh water when we got back from the trip. So in essence, what everyone has said, before and after strip, plus I would see if there was a way to rinse off with fresh water between stages.
