  1. So you want to pay 10, insure for 100, pay the premium and then claim 100. Personally, I don’t agree with this, but each to his own. Insurance is there to protect your risk, not upgrade your lifestyle. Pay 10, insure for 10, bike lost, you get 10 minus your excess and go buy another bike.

Lol for upgrading lifestyle. Thats what they requested from me, they a massive insurance company so I am sure they know what they doing.

  2. i dont understand, an insurance should replace your asset with the same or something better. If you buy a 2010 bike, insurance wont find another 2010 bike because the bike is old plus you paying a premium on the amount you insured the bike for (new replacement bike). Same with household contents, they cover you for what you insured your items for eg. if you have a tube TV, insurance will replace it with an LCD tv.

  3. I am also confused about the insurance part, both insurance companies i have been with, asked me to go get a replacement value quote for a new bike  and I have insured it for that amount.

Wait, wait wait. You have to insure your second hand bike for new replacement, otherwise your insurance company slaps you for under insuring.

When I crashed my TCR which was second hand, they did not care if I bought it second hand, they just called dealers asking for prices and told me I had under insured the item.

  4. I honestly don't see the point of this challenge. This time of the year is the only time one really gets to take a well deserved break with family. I don't understand why you would want to break yourself over an 8 day period when everyone else is having some rest

i see it as taking your mind off structured training and putting in base miles, just enjoying your bike by exploring.

  5. my opinion, bike sales are booming so most bike shops don't feel the need to have specials. During lockdown they were throwing us dead with specials but since "everyone" started cycling and sales is good, you hardly see specials. For one, i don't think the biggest online store has posted one special on the forum since lockdown time.

  6. if anyone has the polar censors for the CS200 that you are not using or willing to sell at a really good price i would appreciate it. Its for that lady that was robbed last week in Hood Road Belgravia. SAPS managed to get her bike back but the sensors was removed. Luckily her computer fell off when they took her bike so she still has it.

  7. Bump. I am planning to go tubeless with my road bike. From past experiences, which sealant works best and does not lose much pressure?

Edit: sorry i see this is sealant in tubes, my apologies.
