Just lately, the Brain tech has not been given a good writeups in the UK MTB bike mags. It seems that the "normal" shock has evolved to the point where it can almost hide inherent frame problems. So, based on that and the added complexity / cost of the Brain tech, I do not think that it is worth the effort. This is just based on reading, personally I have not ridden a Brain Shock bike.

... 2 Specialized roadbikes 2 Specialized MTB's (I still got my trusty Epic) 1 Merida MTB 1 Scott RB setup for TT ... That is the way to go. Keep your older bikes, after many miles on them, they get a sort of personallity / soul. They become part of the family.

Seriously, a Marmite Sandwich is the best. It cost almost nothing, easily wrapped in cling foil, and tast great after 40 km's.
