  1. Dave, Caley and several others laid off yesterday
  2. Thanks guys. I'll head to Thule first and see if they can helps if not I'll make use of the other suggestions.
  3. Hi all My Thule Velocompact 925 bike rack is give me a bit of grief. When I indicate left, the indicator pulses much more rapidly than normal on the car and the one on the bike rack does not light up. I tested it on a friend's car and it does the same thing. I opened up the plug to check the wiring was in good shape and all the connections were good, which they are. I then swapped around the bulbs to see if there was an issue with one of them with no luck. So, I assumng there is a break or short in the wiring harness somewhere. Can anyone recommend someone in the Joburg area who could have a look at it to fix? I contacted Thule directly and they can only suggest taking it to one of their shops, with no indication of they can assist with a repair and I suspect they'll only be happy if they can sell me a new one.
  4. I got to ride the 9.7 at Wolwespruit. Only did a small loop, but I was very impressed with the EX-e. First off, it does not have the punch of a full powered e-bike. The assistance is much more subtle, but still very impressive. This is not a bike you buy to stick in turbo mode and soft pedal everywhere. You need to put in the effort to get the assistance back from it. I also was shown how to disengage the motor and pedaled it around for a bit with no assistance. It felt very much like a normal bike, no drag at all from the motor. Then there is the motor noise. There is none, it is completely silent. I also hit the green flow line a couple of times. The bike handled the jumps very well and did not feel unwieldy or heavy in the air. The suspension was way too firm for me, but it seemed o work very well. Best to try and get a test ride to see if it matches what your expectations are.
  5. I believe NSquared is the local agent for Rocky Mountain now. Maybe give them a try
  6. There are a couple of excellent wheelbuilders on the forum. @nick_the_wheelbuilder and @David Marshall can help I am sure
  7. I've been waiting for proof of this for years, now I have it
  8. Sabie Enduro! What a jol!
  9. Just got back from the finale of the Mpumalanga Enduro Series in Sabie this weekend. What a lekker event and part of an awesome series. Schalk and the team from the Trail Awareness Crew really do put on an amazing series, showcasing the frankly amazing trails in Mpumalanga. I will be doing the series again next year for sure. Any Hubbers in who have an interest in enduro, make a plan for next year! You will not be disappointed!
  10. I use Brunox Fork Deo after every wash. I also service my fork every 50 hours at most.
  11. I dig these left field designs; they push the rest of the industry to come up with better solutions. Sometimes the so-called problems these designs are meant to solve are non-existent.
  12. Dealers / resellers giving absolutely trash offers gets to me. If I wanted to give my bike away I'd have brought it to you to buy.
  13. At those weights, they are likely over the maximum system weight for the bike and the wheels. Get your friends in contact with a proper wheel builder who can assist. @nick_the_wheelbuilder is highly recommended
  14. Brage gave those trails a PK
  15. Enjoy lads! We had our fun in Nelspruit last weekend, you turn now. Super jealous over here
  16. Thanks to Trashy for the clamp. Appreciate it sir 👍
  17. Congrats to all who completed the enduro. It was a long, challenging and hot day in the saddle. Big props to the organizers, sponsors and land owners who worked to make an awesome event
  18. Hi all I’m looking for a right side Matchmaker shifter mount or complete clamp. Please let me know if you have one you’d like to part with
  19. There is a set of 32 hole XM481 in the classifieds
  20. I did a 3h24 last year on my first attempt. The cooler weather was a definite help last year, so I'd be more than happy to match my time if it is hot this year. Training hasn't gone as well as last year thanks to Covid and a bit of a lack of motivation at points, but I seem to be getting that right now.
  21. I have the same bike. Shifting has been spot on from day one. The Shimano shifting is much smoother and lighter than the GX Eagle on my other bike. I suspect you may have a bent hangar or the indexing is off. As for the suspension pivots, the bearings on my frame were dry. Got them lubed up and the bike is super quiet, not that it was noisy to begin with. The one thing that is "off" is the rear brake line routing. It is quite tight as it exits the front triangle. Lead to some issues with my bike which have hopefully been solved now. Other than that, it is probably the finest bike I have ever owned
  22. Thanks gents. I'm sure I'll be sorted today
  23. Thanks guys, I'm looking for the SM-BH90 hose kit for the Deore XT 8120 brakes. I'll confirm with the dealer if they can get hold of a Jagwire hose if there is no stock of the Shimano.
  24. Looks like the real culprit might be a kinked brake line. Now to hope there is stock of a new one and the relevant fittings
  25. Thanks for the offer, but I have a standard setup
