  1. I have one that came with my SRAM bleed kit. If you can make a plan to pick it up from me and return it, you are more than welcome to use it
  2. As Theo says, H10 is the way to go. DC Rainmaker rates it the top HR pod available at the moment
  3. A new Trek Top Fuel with a 130mm fork would be a great shout.
  4. Strange thing for me is the seeming glut of supply of new Scott Sparks which end up at second hand dealers for the same price as new. What gives? Are Scott happy to have any Tom, Dick and Harry sell their bikes while the dealers who have invested in the brand get shafted or is is rogue dealers moving stock for the sake of it.
  5. That Trance 29 Advanced in the classifieds would be an awesome upgrade. A proper fun and poppy bike with loads more capability than the travel and geometry numbers suggest. From experience with my Trance 29 1, it will more than likely need new bearings. Mine liked a new set every 6 months or so. The brake levers on that model are also pants. Upgrading to a set of Guide RS or Guide RSC levers makes a massive difference to the braking power
  6. Do a loop on your bike, then do the loop on a demo and then back on your bike. That should give you a very good idea of the differences
  7. Get a ride on a Trek Fuel EX or new Top Fuel (Wolwespruit has demos) and decide for yourself. Comparing you bike to a current trail bike back to back will give you the answers you are looking for. Personally I wouldn't bother throwing money at an older bike. The bones are already outdated and hanging fancy new bits on it won't give you as much performance gain as the new school geometry. If you ride a size M you can give my Pyga Hyrax a go at Wolwe this weekend. I'll be there on Saturday. Drop me a PM if you want to organise
  8. Two petulant children. Both need a smack and to be sent to the time out corner. The only winners will be their jackals, I mean lawyers
  9. Foamos are not worth the effort from my experience.
  10. I've done everything from the Spruit to Wolwespruit, Grootfontein, Buffelsdrift and Thaba Trails (plus bonus lines) on this bike. Also a really steep, rough and technical bit of trail near home. It handles everything I have thrown at it without breaking a sweat. Obviously when things get really rough and fast I can't charge quite as hard as I would on my Pyga Hyrax, but there is nothing I have come across that I'd say is too gnarly for this bike. Even when I had the stock the 120mm fork I did the black jump line at Wolwespruit. IMO the geometry of the bike elevates it from an XC/marathon type bike to a proper short travel trail bike. It even climbs like a beast!
  11. you mean like this?
  12. Quoting myself here. Done a couple of sessions where the power went off and the UPS handled it with no issues. so far 45 minutes on ERG was the longest it had to go. Plenty of power left when the session was over
  13. Getting this back onto topic. Not a fully new bike, but a new front triangle under warranty with the new "lightweight" Bontrager Line 30 Elite carbon wheelset
  14. Enduro file attached. Maybe hit Willie from MTO up on Instagram or similar to check the last trail (Claudia's) is still open Mpumalanga_Enduro_Series_Round_3.gpx
  15. 2mm play on that post is fine. All posts exhibit some play, if they didn't there would be a lot more friction in the system. X-Fusion has a great video on YouTube showing how to take the post apart and regrease it. 30 minute job tops. Get hold of some Sram butter and a strap wrench to remove the dropper's collar. You don't need to pull the cartridge or service it as it is a sealed unit. If the bushing under the collar is looking shabby with score marks on it, then buy a service kit from RBC. Otherwise a grease service every 6 months will keep the post running smooth.
  16. A second hand Giant Revolt Advanced 2 would fit the bill nicely. 43c clearance, a nice carbon frame with a 105 drivetrain. Versatile enough to do anything from road rides to singletrack. They crop up in the classifieds from time to time.
  17. Bummed for Norton. He seems like a genuinely nice chap who puts in the work but never has the luck go his way. Glad that Greg had a solid run, showing the youngsters how to do it
  18. Virgin Active how about using some of the budget to actually replace the utterly destroyed and second hand machines and equipment in your gyms rather than sponsoring a race? Seems like a better use of resources to a paying member of one of your clubs
  19. Please excuse my ignorance, but would a UPS be able to run a Kickr. I'm specifically looking at the one in the link below. Maximum usage time would be for an hour doing an ERG mode workout. I would not connect fans or TVs or anything else: FSP FP600 600VA/360W Line Interactive UPS - Black | Buy Online in South Africa | takealot.com
  20. Using it for some time now. Seems to work well
  21. In my experience the suspension is pretty linear. At 75kg ready to ride (give or take) I'm at 165psi and 2.5 tokens with my Hyrax running a Deluxe shock. Happy to share setup advice when the time comes
  22. Pics, or it didn't happen
  23. I’ve had great service from XOC and Triptych
  24. Whichever you go for, try for the RS model or higher. The swinglink means much more power than the lower end R model. Properly bedding in the discs and pads is vital whichever brakes you go for. I've ridden a set of Codes that felt like they had oil for pads. After sanding the pads and discs and bedding them in properly they were working as they should. As for Shimano vs SRAM. Love my Codes and my Deore XT
  25. Was there for the enduro a couple weeks back. There was a sign saying all trail were open. Otherwise drop them a message on FB or Insta for confirmation
