  1. Nice! They are great bikes
  2. Nice! What is replacing it?
  3. Only a 10km and 20km loop available at the moment. Those trails are fine and clear to ride. The rest of the place is choked with weeds and blackjacks
  4. Two available in the classifieds
  5. When using the red tool for the b-screw gap on a full sus bike you must have the rear of the bike sitting at the sag point to get the correct gap
  6. Those World Cup DH racers are on another level. Respect!
  7. Take the bike to Trailwolf. They built up my bike with a threaded DUB BB and have all the tools
  8. Hyrax jumping at Wolwespruit
  9. Find the model in the Trek bike archive (if it is not a 2022 model) online and they will have the bearing size listed
  10. I tried a Trek Rail last weekend. Went up a small climb that takes me between 2:00 and 2:30 on my normal bike. Did it in 45 seconds on the ebike and felt like I could have pushed way harder
  11. With the recent additions to the trail, you can get more like 40km
  12. Hennops is a great option. There was very little mud last time I was there and the trails are always well maintained and marked. Just have a look at their Facebook page for parking arrangements since the bridge was washed away.
  13. Glad to hear
  14. Also only for the first owner As for the predicament of the OP: has Rush Sports correctly applied their warranty policy? Yes, they have. By doing this have they lost a customer and put doubt in the minds of those who read this thread? For sure. I'd suggest trying to get hold of someone in the management team at Rush Sports to see if a goodwill compromise can be reached. Maybe an approved repairer could redo the clear coat with the OP and Rush contributing to the costs. If Rush Sports give you the concrete wall treatment, approach Santa Cruz USA directly via social and other channels.
  15. I have a set of the Ciovita indoor bibs (the blue ones). Decent qualify for sure and breathe very well. The chamois is the same as the Corsa bibs and shorts. The sizing seems a touch smaller and tighter than their regular bibs. However, I tend to just wear a pair of Ciovita shorts for my workouts. They've held up very well to daily use
  16. Just to make you lus:
  17. Think you will be limited more by what is actually available to buy. The Specialized Diverge and Giant Revolt are two great options. Decent tyre clearance on both models with a wide variety of models and specs theoretically available. Personally I'm on a Revolt that I upgraded with some 40mm carbon wheels, 38c Panaracers and a clutch derailleur. Done everything from 947 to Modderfontein trails on it
  18. 100%, fit is vital. Try before you buy!
  19. I've found the X01 chains last forever
  20. Not sure what size you are after, but Biket has some available and they are in KZN: 2022 Top Fuel 7 - Matte Dnister Black – biket.co.za 2022 Top Fuel 7 - Matte OliveGrey – biket.co.za Also, getting the correct sized bike trumps every single spec item and should be the priority
  21. For the price (around R50k), I'd rather look at the Trek Top Fuel 7. No integrated cabling, better fork, shock and groupset with a lifetime warranty to the original owner
  22. Then I doubt you are smashing rocks on DH and Enduro trails
  23. Something interesting on the proposed Chinese development of Modders:
  24. Your local bike shop should be able to get them from Cape Cycles
  25. I'm going to echo the buy new sentiments of previous posts. Warranty and shop support are worth it. Your budget will push you to entry level hard tails. There is nothing wrong with these bikes, but be aware that a lot of the components are not the most durable or robust, so if you really decide to get into the sport the bikes might end up letting you down
