  1. +1 Especially for Expat South Africans that left before they had their first ID issued, i.e. no finger prints in the database. So essentially I didn't exist for about 3 months when I first came back here.
  2. I don't know about the whole lower loop, but I know that a while back they shortened it because of lambing season. Apparently the cyclists scared the sheep and a lot of lambs were abandoned by the ewes and died.
  3. It looks like it'll be available by November 28th. I'm surprised that they don't have it ready for Cyber Wednesday or at the very least Black Friday.
  4. Boobs, not moobs!
  5. The closest swimming watch with all the gadgets that I've come across is the new Garmin Forerunner 910XT. Although the only problem is that it doesn't calculate HR. Just out of curiousity - why do you need/want all that info for swimming?
  6. I have/had the Ironman BC-554 and liked all the features on there.
  7. Ok, here's a link to downward facing dog http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/491 I'm too stiff to get my feet flat, hence the pedalling
  8. Hahahaha.... It's also a yoga stretch! And... it's just called cat - stretches out your back - normally go from cat in to cow I'll see if I can find pictures
  9. Everyone has one side that is stiffer than the other... A good stretch for the side that I've found is starting out in child's pose (yoga stretch) with your arms out infront, then while in the position move your arms over to the right, while making sure your left buttocks is glued to the ground, hold for a while before returning to center and repeat for other side. To loosen up the legs, go in to downward dog, and pedal your feet slowly.
  10. It's not in the fourways area, but contact Gareth at info@justsports.co.za I'm sure he can courier it to you if you don't get right anywhere else. It's good quality equipment at a cheaper price than any of the stores that I've come across.
  11. 2 "the"
  12. Awesome ride today! The weather managed to cooperate! Only did the 49km. Was my first legal draft race in ages. So lots to learn still cause I made quite a few 'rookie' errors. Didn't expect the start group to go racing off, so was riding solo until right before fisantekraal turn off when I got sucked in to a group passing, but they dropped me half way before the 4way when I tried to avoid a pothole. Fortunately I met up with 2 other riders for most of the way but I dropped them on the big hill on Philadelphia. From there it was solo the rest of the way. Managed a 1:41 I definitely need to practice my group riding skills!
  13. Just a quick status update for those that have been on the wall about joining... The master's swimming has been going on for 3 weeks now. The group is balanced well between swimmers and triathletes, as well as beginners and stronger swimmers. And depending on the day the amount of people in the pool varies from 2 to about 15. The coach is great, and helps with stroke technique and it's up to you how long and hard you want to swim for. The pool itself is great for open water training, especially with no lane lines in. So hopefully see some more of you on the pool deck! Especially now that the water temp has warmed up from f%$#ing freezing to just freezing!
  14. Enter through racetec's site. Just search for it under calendar.
  15. Definitely! But you have to admit that seeing Sheldon attempt rock climbing and subsequently fainting rates as one of the must sees!
  16. Haha!!! That episode was classic!
  17. I'm there, but for the shorter route! I can roll outta bed 10 min before the start and still be there early!
  18. Just over 4.9million views! This has totally gone viral! My friends in the US said it was shown on the news there! Btw, the comments at the bottom are a must read.
  19. What are you getting? I'm going home over Christmas, but if you can't wait until then I can just have my parents send it over for you.
  20. I just checked out the Forerunner 910XT, I think I need to get one! If only for the additional swimming features! But I currently have the 310XT, and so far I've enjoyed using it. I've used it on both the bike and running/hiking. And haven't had any issues with software and analizing data.
  21. I'll send you a PM with contact details. I'll be going to the Bellville pool too!
  22. It's for Lake Shore Drive!
  23. Ok guys and gals, I haven't had too much luck with getting access to a local pool, but there is a masters group that swims at both the Bellville municipal pool and Durbanvill High School pool. Preliminary information is as follows: Durbanville High School Tuesday and Friday 12h00 - 13h00 Cost: R200 per month Bellville Pool Mon thru Fri 18h00 - 19h30 Cost: R270 per month I'm still waiting on info about when the programs will start. The typical person that swims with masters is either interested in galas, triathlons, to improve their fitness level, or just to get better at swimming. I can find out as well if you can try it if you're not 100% sure about what it all entails before comitting.
