  1. I live in a small town, it was nice not to bump into anyone else out there this morning...its been quite busy the last few weeks.
  2. Which means we have a couple of days up north before the wind and cold gets here... Game on.
  3. Old water pump pliers work a treat....The smoother the jaws the better....
  4. Aaah...the perennial question....
  5. I'm not in CT so I don't really know where this is in relation to where you all ride in the mountains... Table Mountain National Park management has made the decision to close the Lion's Head section of Table Mountain with immediate effect, until further notice. Due to the nature of the trail, recreational activities are no longer permitted in these areas due to none compliance by users in accordance to the Alert Level 3 regulations of the Nationwide Lockdown.
  6. My dad used to work at Kloof...we stayed in Glenharvie and Hillshaven.... Good times back then....
  7. Unfortunately that Dirt Merchant one can come off....just goes to an empty domain now....
  8. And the world wonders why its in such a mess.....!
  9. To be honest I seldom buy from CWC these days...although their actual delivery has never been an issue trying to get someone to reply to mails or return a phone call seems to be a thing of the past...Anyway I find their pricing is often beaten by smaller online shops... So I shop around....I have also used www.capemulti.co.za For various bike tools in the past.
  10. Nog 'n dag...When I see abandoned places I always wonder what made everyone just leave and let a place fall apart...that double story has a great view down into the valley where the village is...
  11. Great, so my 3 yr old Xaomi decided to turn off and not boot up last night...I tried flashingit etc but I think its now just something to throw about the garden! Also note that when you think you have a back up of contacts etc you may very well not have one...thats my newfound experience... Does anyone have a lowe end dual SIM phone? It seems the Hisense E9 is about the best affordable option under 2k? Thanks
  12. It is a nice fork though...I wish I had R4.50 for it....
  13. I thought it was a soap?
  14. Thanks, someone did get back to me after posting here and on FB... I just wasn't sure where ZANDO fitted into this....
  15. I've just been down to the local 'kasi' to drop some tools off for a friend to fix his door... Good thing they didn't open the bottle stores today otherwise everyone would be sitting around in the sun in groups, swigging from quart bottles, 'zoling' and getting drunk. Viva....
  16. Has anyone bought from the FOX SA website? I bought and paid for gloves last week and received confirmation etc then I received an email from FOX SA saying my order would be delivered by last Friday...When I sent an email to find out about the parcel I then received an automated reply from ZONDO. Obviously its not here...which is not a big hassle but what concerns me is I have received no tracking number and emails go unanswered with ZONDO and FOX... It would be nice to have a tracking number to see where my winter gloves are! Bit concerned here as I have never bought something online and not received a tracking number once it leaves the warehouse....
  17. What you don't like is when the MTB'ers pass you on the road.....
  18. Im sure you have already done this but I find just moving the glasses a bit more forward down the nose helps a bit with the fogging up.
  19. Agreed, its terrible what we do to animals. I don't know how people live with themselves doing this. If those animals have to be killed then surely there is a more humane way...but I suppose its all about the bottom line and choking hundreds of animals to death overnight is the cheapest option....
  20. Man, this world...sometimes I think a more substantial virus than Corona is the only cure for mans greed and wanton wastage...disgusting. https://theintercept.com/2020/05/29/pigs-factory-farms-ventilation-shutdown-coronavirus/?fbclid=IwAR3LCaBRqY6MYjHyFk15PPt3eguuVyq1xRXTZBzAa6ZqluS20Emyeuiwn30
  21. Not really looking but that frame was a good deal! And it was 9mm QR which is what I currently use.
  22. FFS! I missed that!
  23. Ja, i had it in my bag....looks like old bicycle brake/gear cable....good thing those branches were bent like that or I would not have seen that! I just keep a cheap pair of wire cutters in the bag.
  24. I opted for a late start today. Left home at 10am (gasp, horror) and for the first time in a month had a warm and pleasant ride! I like the odd early morning winter ride but its not habit forming for me! If you start heading out onto the trails please take some pliers with you, I found two snares out on my ride today....
