Land is owned by a local gold mine (no longer really functional, sad really as it used to have a restaurant and bar and you could pan for gold for fun and enjoy the views out over the area). I have heard that there are new applications for mining in the area.

Anyone know what these concrete blocks with the signs denote? The area was an old gold mine from the later 1890s or so...Been untouched for the last 25 years of my time in the area (25 years ago we used to come and camp out here...how times change!)....now this in the last week or so....The other pillars are numbered GOU -7B and GOU 8

So the Squirrel of the South has said there will be no load shedding from the 16th... Well done mate.... That's when most businesses have closed up shop for Dec...(or just given up....) What a legend..... And damn these saboteurs.....!

I read something about EksDom is looking to increase rates to recover losses... I bet my boss wishes we could do a crap job of something and charge more for it!

Still, on the 'bright' side at least the Eskom bill should be low this month....
