  1. Did I just hear on the radio you can't go jogging now?
  2. I think you can remove the obedient bit from this! If there is one thing we are good at in South Africa its dodging the rules and the laws!
  3. Because we are all in this sh$t show together and people have the attitude of "Well, if he is dong that, then I can do this".....do we want this problem under control or not?
  4. I agree, the business I work for can just about manage 3 weeks of no production and income....but if it has to be extended due to people making the problem worse then that will be the close of another business and more unemployed out there....
  5. 100%..and I know it has to be done but I just feel like the 3 week 'lockdown' isn't going to make much of a dent in this problem judging by a lot of attitudes out there (white and black...rich and poor...)
  6. Ag, I can see this whole lockdown thing ending up being a waste of time (not that I am against it by the way). Looking at my cameras while I type this I can see about 20 kids running up and down my street, no worries there (from around 7 or 8 different families), people will still go out and do their cycling and running, people will still go and socialise around a braai with drinks...backyard taverns will still be in full operation....how on earth can all of this be policed when we had lawlessness issues before the virus said hello.... Good luck to all of us who will try and do our bit by staying away from people and the outside world but I fear this is just going to turn into an uncontrollable mess... Not negative but realisitic, I'm starting to sense that the lockdown is a pretty tall order for most South Africans to adhere to....Actually after trawling around Facebook it seems its a pretty tall order for most around the world who are in this situation....
  7. Time to learn some Pilates and Yoga......!
  8. Thanks, going to read this tonight...I did stop for 6 years odd, had a personal crisis some years back..was at a low point in life and I had a smoke.... And that was that again sadly... What they say is true...once an addict...always an addict....
  9. I never used the Momsen saddle my bike came with, it looked savage so I put my Gobi on and put that Momsen one in the cupboard...! Maybe take that saddle down to a decent LBS and see what they say....?
  10. ja.the boss talks about it all day when it's load shedding....
  11. I'm guessing a cadre must have designed and knocked up the Eishkom website for about R5 million...you cant get onto it to check the load shedding schedule.....tits on a chicken....absolutely useless....

    Geek funnies

    Only a bit funny....
  13. Thanks, you can hardly see the wear but you know how it is, we like to keep the bikes looking good!
  14. No markings on the uppers so I have the cheap ass one! Fork still performs well and there is no leakage so I guess I'll just have to suck it up...!
  15. Seals were changed about 8 months ago. I also bought a handful of the foam rings and change them quite often for the sake of R10 or whatever they cost me. I wasn't keen on the black uppers but its the only 29er fork I could get with a straight steerer and QR to replace the Suntour that had failed twice on me....most of my riding is done on dusty roads and paths though....
  16. I have a RS Recon, 2019 model, it has the black stanchions. I've noticed that these are now marking up quite easily (had it since Aug 2018). Its the first fork I've had where I am now getting wear marks on the uppers. I'm pretty good with the lower service (pull the lowers off, clean seals and wash and re-oil foam rings etc) and unless I'm caught out I don't ride in mud at all...None of my other forks have had a black upper section, just the normal metallic look. The fork has done a good few thousand K's now though.....its not a broad band of wear, just the odd few scratches on it... Anyone else having this issue? Bit miff as it looks like I don't give a toss about the fork! I
  17. I love this bit on that page...we are losing 10s of trillions of gazillions through government.....! Maybe sort that nonsense out first! We know South Africa is losing tens-of-billions of rands through illicit trade in the tobacco industry, fuel industry, gold refining industry… We know there’s been aggressive planning and complicated structures that large corporates engage in that has seen billions of rands flowing offshore, not all of it legitimately… We know there are 2.1 million South Africans with financial assets offshore… Edward Kieswetter, Commissioner - South African Revenue Servic
  18. Late afternoon ride....you can see autumn is around the corner....the grass is long on the trail and eventually I had to stop to get those horrible grass seeds out of my socks....! Best make the most of the end of summer!
  19. Anyone play Apex Legends here? Downloaded that last week and have neglected my evening studies since.....! I didn't check some facts as my friend plays it on his PS4 and I use a PC and thought we could team up...sadly you can't cross platform with the players...
  20. Just wait till you are next at a braai and the "But isn't chicken a vegetable?" jokes come thick and fast....! But good for you. Sadly chickens are probably one of the most exploited animals out there....
  21. Lucky its dog crap...my neck of the woods you need to watch out for what the humans leave behind.... I don't understand why people need to take a dump right on a path!
  22. Tried Spar's vegetarian burgers last night....don't bother....even my dogs thought twice about eating them and they think cat crap is a treat....!
  23. Ja. Like anyone believes anything Eksdom has to say these days....
  24. Pretty much on the same curve as the accountability.......
