I appeal to all of you to make yourselves as visible out there as possible. Switch on those front & rear lights. Not only when its dark, but during the day as well and wear bright colored kit. It does not help moaning & bitching about safety when we do not take the appropriate steps to make as more visible out there. And remember to adhere to the rules of the road!! GOD keep you all safe out there!!

It is really sad to see that with this congress about to take place in two days time that nobody has asked the question or suggested? ' What about electing or putting in place a 'Safety Officer' to look out for us cyclists. It seems we only cry 'foul' when someone close to us or we are acquainted with 'Dies'. The most important position to fill/create!! (IMHO)!!!!

Not nice, but I think it stems from all the claims against them with regards to damage to Bicycles. Now they will be handled and 'crated' correctly which is labour intensive. However, they should have given people notice timeously when bookings were done. In 2005 my Bicycle went missing for almost a week after the Argus. British Airways could not find it. It turned out it never left Cape Town and was 'hidden' behind some boxes at their cargo section.

Over the last weekend, there was a mini expo at Emporers....... hardly anybody collected their numbers from there because first of all you have to pay a R10 entrance fee and then find a parking (these gamblers are early morning people) and then trek 10km's to collect your number. Guys went rather to Cycle Lab which was more convenient.

It's simple.......Watch where you are riding and ensure that your tyre pressure is as per the manufacturers recommended pressure and you will have no more problems..... That will be R5 sir, monies can be deposited and will be used for Cycle Safe Signs...................
