  1. Hi. The “mynpad” is the safest option by far. It is tarred from secunda for a 20km road that ends at a dirt road (that goes to Bethal). Mynpad surface is very smooth, with minimal traffic, as the mine was decommissioned a few years ago. We normally do laps on the mynpad (40km out and back with around 330m of ascent). Boring, but safe. There are other loops available for road biking, but best to do them in a larger group as there is more traffic. You are welcome to PM me for details. edit** Please avoid the N17 at all costs. Too dangerous as drivers are absolute maniacs on that road.
  2. Wow, Beers is looking very strong. Would be interesting to see if he focused on the marathon world champs next year… I have not watched the complete race footage so far, but how are the other sa pros doing?
  3. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Reinet! Thankful that they found the issue and I hope the surgery goes well so you can regain some energy!
  4. So is Thule worth the extra money compared to say Buzzrack for a 3 bike platform carrier?
  5. Well done @Blouogies! Second place behind Nolan????????
  6. Also tried the Vye Velo bibs. Did not work at all for me. Tried it on two rides and my sit bones were hurting like never before. Not sure why, but the chamois does not accommodate with me. Never in 4 years experienced it with Ciovita Corsa bibs. I ordered another Ciovita Corsa 2. In my opinion, the quality is much better than Vye velo bibs.
  7. Jeez, looks like it is Friday. ???? Not my intention to derail/miss direct the thread, was just an honest question. I am also not an anti vaxxer. I am glad events are possible again, will gladly pay the testing money to be safe to race. Anyway, enjoy the weekend and go ride your bike to blow off some steam.
  8. No problem, I have not read all the threads/replies.
  9. I do not think that was savage point. Why are vaccinated people exempted from being tested? Being vaccinated reduces the severity of Covid symptoms, so you might be Covid positive, carrying and spreading the virus without even knowing it. In my opinion, everyone should be tested to ensure all spreaders isolate themselves.
  10. Cois You are such an inspiration! Thank you! My mother passed a week ago after her battle with cancer and then covid. It was/is a real difficult time for our family. Through all the tears and heartache, God still brings comfort and good, in the end. It just made me realise again that our time on earth is very limited (and almost insignificant compared to eternity), and we have to make the best of every moment. I am sure your braveness and fighting spirit has definitely touched many hearts, including mine. In the end, God decides when our lives will come to an end, so my prayer is that your time here will be used for the good. May your battle with this disease inspire many more and draw many more closer in having a relationship with our creator. In the end, He is in control, so let Him take control. Baie sterkte, ons bid vir jou en jou vrou!
  11. Definitely what you should not be doing at this stage. You need to do endurance rides. Many of them to build your aerobic engine. Those sprints are for much much later. If you cannot speak comfortably, you are going too fast. My advice would be to get a coach and start with your objectives. The 600kg leg press target seems a bit strange...
  12. I also have the barista express. Very sensitive to old beans, as the extraction time is way too quick when the beans are old. Also, check the grinder setting on the burr itself when the hopper is removed. I used to operate at the finest grind setting on the dial, but then opted to adjust the burr setting finer with 2 notches. Now I am always at around 5/6 setting on the grind dial.
  13. So I am trying the single bottle feed system from 32GI. Using the racepro you basically add your whole race/ride carbs requirement in a single bottle. This mixture does get a bit thick (up to 12 scoops in a single 750ml bottle) but it is actually still drinkable (Choc flavour). The other bottles is just a hydration drink with electrolytes and no carbs which is consumed according to thirst. This method is more simple for me, as I do not have to keep count of all the bars and gels and bottles I need to consume each hour. Main reason for trying this, is that I was really struggling with the gut training to absorb all the different types of carbs. Especially during high intensity rides. I always had a burning stomach towards the end of my rides. Anyway, i am tying this method and hope it works. In no way sponsored or affiliated to 32GI.
  14. I am in exactly the same situation. Also have a sedan without a tow bar, and the strap on bike rack just irritates the hell out of me. It scratches my car, takes too long to load the bicycle to prevent damage to the bike, plus once the bicycle is loaded, I cannot access my boot. (The last point is very irritating since I have 2 young girls who always need something from the boot... Also noted that with the bicycle behind the sedan using the strap on rack, the fuel efficiency drops dramatically. So my options are: 1. Buy towbar and rack with tilt function 2. Roof rack.
  15. Did Nino ride the short track race?
  16. Excited for Beers!

    Bibs

I think I will pull the trigger on the Vye Velo. If I wear a medium on the Ciovita Corsa 2, is it safe to order a medium Vye Velo?
  18. W@nted

    Bibs

I think I will try the vye bibs next. Do you also prefer the velo? Sizing the same as ciovita?
  19. W@nted

    Bibs

They should fit firm everywhere, but not cutting blood flow firm. You do not want loose moving parts, especially on your crotch and inner upper leg, as that is where the chafing will hurt you
  20. W@nted

    Bibs

That is great that you will be able to fit them???????? Bibs are great, just remember to take your pre ride dump before putting the bibs and shirt on…Otherwise you will have to undress again????
  21. W@nted

    Bibs

Hahaha, great response. I am male and identify as male????
  22. W@nted

    Bibs

I can also recommend the ciovita corsa bibs. Great value. Great fit, although the corsa 2 fit is more “snug” than the original corsa. My original corsa bibs are now getting tired after 3 years of riding. Many km’s

    Bibs

On the vye cycling bib. Which one would you recommend? Velo or corta on their website. Also, is their sizing similar to ciovita?
  24. Anyone here running zwift on the 2021 apple tv? Have zwift updated the graphics profile to include shadows? I am in the market for a apple tv, just want to know if it is worth it to buy the new one.
