It is very important that I get a medal for each race completed, as my seven year old son gets one for every swimming gala, rugby weekend and/or cricket tourney won, and we are competing to have the most. Serious stuff. But the only ones that really mean anything to me would be Crater Cruise's and Legend Gorge 70k. Those two remind me what slow death feels like

What I find interesting is the number of riders disqualified for "starting early". Can there be so many people who do that?

Remember that you are out there to enjoy nature and the ride, if you feel like bliksemming him then you have allowed the oke to spoil your "me time", just brush it aside and get back into the nice of it

Once you get the new steed, this one will still serve you well as a "lets try that rocky section where we know we gonna fall" option. And the wife/girlfriend/buddy can tag along on it when you go to groenies. welcome and enjoy!

Have heard only good things about Voriberg, and have had the bikes on the car twice now to come out and do it, but goeters came up (like flu and kiddies parties). But I'll get there, and I'll bring some buddies too...Byt vas, this sounds like a race we need to protect and grow!

At least one post a day will make me laugh, or teach me something about cycling (about the bike, a new venue or how many other okes have also fallen on their asses that week). If Crater Cruise 2010 was another 100m I would have been unconscious with meters to go. One of you mentioned shivering...you know you bonked when you are really cold with gooseflesh in 45 degree sun! And you know you should be drinking and eating but knowing it and doing it are not the same, you just use every ounce of energy to keep that 7km/h granny gear going on the flat. Character building

I LOVED it yesterday, but walk-through shower/big sprinkler would improve it 200% for quick rinse-down after the race, cos that mud does not smell so lekker... Anybody know who the fellow on the tandem with his young boy on the back in the 70k was? I want to know if he had to walk through the rivers or whether that thing just trucks through them...he finished very well.

So all that beer I religiously consume after a race to flush out the lactic acid is for nothing?? Dont worry, I'll invent a new reason...
