  1. Thought the same.... That and "eina!".
  2. Surprisingly, the use of the greeting "Fallen Tree" often seems to illicit a response from my fellow cyclists, especially when I'm going up, and they are going down... It's proved so successful, I now greet everyone with it.
  3. There is some merit in the request.
  4. Welcome to the Hub! Accessories contain all manner of items - but one non-negotiable would be a decent helmet! At your price range, you can find a fairly decent entry level mtb - which will do everything that it needs to do, without breaking the bank. Take a while to get into it, and then decide if you want to spend more money, and how - going forward... A second alternative, would be to go 2nd hand. Again, at that price-range, you could probably pick up a slightly older bike, that is obviously a bit more used and battered, but one that might have better components on it... Before going this route, however, get educated... Spend time on the Hub, trawling through the search option. Your question has been asked over and over again, with a multitude of responses, that mostly boil down to the same thing... Start buying cycling magazines, check out mtb websites, and pick up as much information as possible about the components, frames etc., as you can... once you've done all of this, you should be able to start identifying why it's not such a good idea to hit the trails and major downhills on just any bike bought at Sportsman Warehouse... You'll then also be able to monitor the classifieds section, and start getting a sense of what constitutes a good deal/fair price to pay, per type of bike... Good luck!
  5. Be still my beating heart.
  6. Please do - with pics!
  7. Very nice! Did you get the Jones direct from his website, or via a different portal?
  8. Have a look over here: http://www.thehubsa....age__hl__brooks Quite a few Hubbers having been trying them on mtb's... I have two now - the first one is on my SS, the 2nd, more racy-version, on my softail. Will never change saddles. But then again - each butt to their own...

  10. That is awesome.
  11. Dude!!!!! I want to report that! Put up a warning sign. Or make it smaller. Make it smaller.....!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Ok. I'm over it. ]
  12. Used to get that "blood under the skin - make big purple ugly bag" in my rugby days... With great embarrassment, I was advised by the Doc to wear shin-guards [as an aside - it is not pleasant having the blood drained by a syringe]. The jibes from the team-mates stopped when I showed them what big purple ugly bag look like. Moral of story: No shin-gaurd = pain. Shin-gaurd = less so. Good luck.
  13. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page - under INFO - RULES & GUIDELINES.
  14. I have already paid. The money is on the way by PayePal. Please advise when you will post it. It is most esteemed of you for making the postage! I am here: Abbey Scott 23 Ikorodu Road Lagos, Ketu, Nigeria 23401
  15. That be three. Anyhoos - it's suddenly occurred to me, that if you ever wanted to compile a list of Hubbers that you would want to buy their old bike from - given how it would be in impeccable condition - then it would make so much of sense to pop up a thread like this, check who displays most of the OCD criteria, and then wait for their trusty steed to come up for sale (or harass them endlessly)... Iron - you selling anything soon?
  16. That be harsh.
  17. 2012 version looking good... But imo, still pales in comparison to the '67 GT500 version... Check out the link for the price...: http://www.remarkabl...ustang-017.html
  18. Same here - given away plenty of tubes. Don't know why I carry one with me - though I guess I do only take it along on long isolated rides. That one time, was major wipe. Burped both front and rear straight off, so it wouldn't have made much of difference, since I only had one tube...
  19. Reckon you'll get as many suggestions as there are tyres in regards to the first one... But to be honest - a tyre thick and nobbly enough to handle rough terrain is surely always going to be less than ideal on tar, and vice versa? In regards to the 2nd - if you have the time, and do proper research both here on the Hub - and youtube - then it can certainly be done competently at home... Of course it helps if you are also able to change a light-bulb/re-wire a plug/build a small nuclear device/are good with your hands.... Re 3 - I've been carrying everything with me since I converted - more than 4(?) years now. Used plenty of bombs (6 on my mate's setup alone - long story), and have used the plugs twice. Never used the tube. Needed to once - but couldn't get the valve out, so ended up walking...
  20. Another option would be to keep Shimano, and simply use Shimano SM-SH56 multi-directional release cleats...
  21. Nope. PC Shell 5.5
