  1. Yip and if your feeling really active there is a Vori berg race the day before I bit more technical and hilly then babba's http://archive.waterpoint.co.za/vori-berg-mtb-series-infopage
  2. yip thats right, received the e-mail a few days ago, apparently the track on the opposite side is on dolomite or something like that, which is prone to sink holes and has been deemed unsafe by the municipality. pretty scary for the rest of us who rode the last one, could have been our last had one of those holes decided to open up while riding over it edit spelling
  3. I dont know if this link helps for what your asking? http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=71609 http://www.chainreac...px?Search=crown from what I understand you need to buy a tapered headset for the frame then replace the crown race at the bottom with one made for a 1 1/8" standard steer tube edit spelling
  4. I just love that part of the write up. but thumbs up to the OP this is a good post
  5. why dont you start a poll in the chit chat section with photo's of the different options and ask people to vote on what they like?
  6. It can happen gradually over time If you've had the sealant in there for a long time and havent topped it up, otherwise as stated above CO2 bombs dont help the situation, they make the sealant more acid and cause the latex to precipitate leading to either that or boogers.
  7. So I'm guessing no hubbers are going to join me for this one on sunday?
  8. yip and apparently some of the riders were burnt by flares yesterday? not cool. sorry if this has been posted before.
  9. no one else here in Hub doing this race next weekend?
  10. Any one else here on Hub doing the race in hluhluwe? will be the first time I get to do one of the Big5 series here at home, am at varsity in Pretoria most of the time the events are on http://www.big5mtb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57&Itemid=65
  11. just dont forget about CUSTOMS, they can nail you with 67% of declared value because cycling kit falls under clothing, thinking about it.
  12. I'd say half a size down from that of anatomic? so if your an anatomic L a XL in their sizing would work. Edit sorry I see you asked SA medium, I'd say go for a Large, the arms and waist are definitely smaller
  13. Thanks wanted our tops to stand out a little if possible hence the green on black edit: Its more of a brighter green then the pictures show
  14. If you want you must come join us sometime, seeing your also here in Gauteng, or say "Hi" if you see one of the above tops at a race somewhere.
  15. I did the rough design, found the logo's wording etc, they just helped tweak it so that when produced everything would stitch together nicely and look good
  16. yes it is actually, I'm in my 5th year of Veterinary studies our club is not an offical CSA registered club, and with all the nonsense TUKS is giving most likely not a TUKS club either next year, It was something a few students started a couple years ago, which I've now taken over as they've left, Its more a group of students that ride, train and race together, not very big. edit: we are at the Onderstepoort veterinary faculty in Pretoria North
  17. Hi guys I took the plunge and had some custom kit made from one of the alibaba suppliers here is a link to their website http://cyclingbox.en.alibaba.com/ and here's a link to a little something I wrote in the rant and rave section, with one or two photo's https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/117980-chinese-custom-cycling-kit/
  18. Hi guys, I don't know if I am posting this in the right topic, because its a bit of a mix of topics, I want to rave about the good service I received as well as let other out there know about a possible alternative when wanting to get custom kit make, so MODS please move this post if you feel it belongs elsewhere. Someone posted a while ago about possibly getting some kit from overseas due to the cost, and posted a link for a alibaba search result So I decided what the hell and contacted one of the suppliers listed, because us as the Onderstepoort MTB Club could not find a sponsor to help fund a portion of our kit this year, basically there was no ways the social student riders were going to pay R369 for a top, which was the cheapest quote I could find here in SA. So I get a reply within a few hours, which started off with the words "Hello Friend", which made me a bit nervous at first but decided to get quotes anyway. To calm my mind a little, I asked if I could get a sample kit sent, just to make sure something would arrive in the post before I went and ordered R6000 worth of kit, which I would never see as well as my money, so $57 later a full saxobank kit arrived within 3 days nogal. So I took the plunge and ordered our club kit, and 3 weeks later it arrived (today ), and it only cost us R170 a top including postage (DHL) I've been riding the sample kit that was sent for a month now and am very impressed, In terms of quality I would easily compare it to some of the custom brands we have here, (granted I've only really owed Mr Price kit and the odd custom shirt) the bibs sit nicely for long rides and don't shift and the material of the tops is very comfortable and cool. So what I'm trying to say is if your looking for custom kit, maybe give these guys a go, you might be pleasantly surprised. In terms of sizing I would maybe recommend going one size up as they are about half a size smaller then anatomic or cyclone. I've attached some pictures of the kit we had made for those wanting to look and the link to their website is below for those interested http://cyclingbox.en.alibaba.com/ the person I dealt with was called Jenny, but don't know if that's maybe a standard English name they use for us English speaking people.
  19. Well take a chance you never know "better to have tried and failed then have failed to try" some might say Phone the local distributors and see what they say, then e-mail them that photo and let them decide if its a valid claim or not.
  20. those people are probably the same people that stand on the side of the track asking for spares when something goes wrong, as far as I know one can do the following with regards to spares 1. camelbak 2. saddle bag 3. tool bottle (fits in bottle cage) 4 shirt pockets 5. saddle bag that straps to the frame round about the stem area 6. not take any, and be the chop asking to lend spares
