  1. well its good to see you tried searching first before someone chews your head off with regards to center lock, those are normally the shimano hubs, and 6 bolt is like it say there are 6 bolts that connect the rotor to the hub. and with regards to the size, the normal is 160mm, but larger rotors can be used all you'll have to do is change the mounting bracket that connects the brake caliper to the frame or fork, most bike shops should be able to help with this, to make sure you get the right adapter for your caliper, bike combination. bigger rotors obviously have more stopping power due to torque etc. and the rest im sure someone else will post on here lol
  2. to me it looks like something you'd see in a movie like "back to the future" some kind of way out there futuristic kind thing, so it has a mixed appeal for me personally.
  3. for starters is your set up on the bike right? if its wrong it could possibly lead to a sore knees? R300 for a proper set up is well worth it if you ask me
  4. no it does work, you just need to try and get that oily feeling to the touch to be gone, if trying to rub it off with a clean cloth doesnt work, leave it overnight to dry a bit and try again the next morning.
  5. its called a gaiter (spelling?), basically a patch placed on the inside of the tire, some bike shops sell those really big parktool patches otherwise what you can do is just pop round to a autozone or midas and buy a biggish car patch. with regards to the stans what i do is, take the tire off and remove the excess stans and wipe the spot to be patched with a dry clean cloth, and then lightly sand the patch site to give it a bit of roughness once i've put the patch on i like to put the tire back on the rim and pump it up with a tube inside and leave it like that overnight, so the patch glues nicely to the tire before a make it tubeless again. if the hole in the side wall is quite big you can always stitch it with fishing line just before you put the patch on, with it being the side wall, the line shouldn't wear away.
  6. well you could always ride back but in all seriousness you'd probably need to make a new friend and bum a lift i guess, dont do road racing so have always wondered how people get back to the start if you dont have a friend/wife/girlfriend to take you back
  7. ja my bad, i copied that list off a website and saved it on my PC before SRAM released the XX range, when i also didnt know what the hell was going on
  8. LX is no longer around has been replaced with SLX in the shimano range, and with regards to deore XT it think its the same as plain XT ? someone correct me if i'm wrong here?
  9. Best XTR XT LX Deore Alivio Acera Altus cheapest in that order for shimano and X.0 X.9 X.7 X.5 X.4 X.3 in the SRAM range
  10. good tips what i found also works is make yourself a nice 16 week Xcel sheet, where you weigh yourself every morning after you get up, like that i found it gave me more determination to be more healthy and stick to good eating practices, because last thing you want is to wake up the next morning and the number on the scale is bigger then the day before so far 7.5kg down in 5 odd weeks
  11. much better to rather go natural bud, hard to do but in the long run worth it i'd say, most(not saying all) wieght loss pills normally send your heart rate through the roof for starters and have hectically long possible side effects lists, so just be careful, remember that most of the actives are unknown for long term effects (20+ years) and a prime example is the old and new phedra cut like above? they would not have banned the active if it wasn't dangerous edit: spelling
  12. well if i were a foreign investor and read about all the crap going on in this country, nationalization of mines, protection of information bill, julius malema and the list goes on and on and on, i would also not want to invest here. i mean south africa has such great potential, and the people in power are making such a cock up of things. ok that my rant over, but ja i'd also like the rand to get stronger again have a few CRC goodies im also wanting to get sometime
  13. no i think its about the right time now, they burning some of the farms out here in the north, its just before the rains get here so that everything comes back greener and better.
  14. that picture looks like it did not at all end well

  16. ok have voted, your needing some real help at the moment, i see the top guy has like 40 something votes, come on hubbers help the guy out. and W.W. ask all your mates on FB to vote for you
  17. and if she sees this post and takes it the wrong way, your going to get one tight one lol
  18. i use tennis overgrips, nice and cheap from mr price sport R30 for 2, and like that you can choose colors that fit your bike or if your getting a little board with the black inner tube lol edit: what i like most about the overgrips is they dont perish like the tube, so thus last quite a bit longer.
  19. when im looking for rough prices on bikes i look at www.cyclefactory.co.za or www.hotspotcycles.co.za or just give CWC a call i'm sure they should be able to give you quotes quiet easily
  20. hmmm i was thinking last night how things might benefit who and who would loose out. what i was thinking is say you want a pair of bibs from crc, they will cost you R1000. then there is duty and vat, lets forget about postage for now because you made a total order over (R4000). so when the bibs land this side they slap you with 67% vat and duties. so those bibs cost you R1670 now lets say cwc gets the bibs at 20% less then sticker price from CRC, just a guess i dont know how much margins etc, and how much discount for bulk etc. so it costs CWC R800 for the same bibs, then with the 67% duties it takes the number to R1336. so that will leave a difference of R334 like that CWC can add a R334 profit they make some money, your not out of pocket because it still costs you the same to order direct from CRC with duties OR CWC could charge less then R344 and hope to work on the more sales less profit story and still make money. in that way say rather charge R1500, they make R167 on the bibs and you save R167 on the bibs. But like said above there are many factors to take into consideration. if the rand suddenly becomes stronger then the buyer gets screwed and if the rand suddenly gets weaker then the seller gets screwed. so yeah its anyones guess how things are going to work out lol
  21. what insurance company you with out of interest
  22. with the money you'll spend on upgrading, unless you've just got a super fancy bike with rim brakes, it might just be worth selling your current bike and buying a new or secondhand one. in doing so you'll most probably upgrade both brakes and other components at the same time for the same money. let us know what you've got now? maybe it might be worth upgrading just the brakes
  23. + 1 here plus i wouldnt buy chains and cassettes that are slightly used, according to sale
