Very sad indeed. Infuriating is the R5000 bail for murdering someone. Why not R500K ? Clearly the lack of law enforcement seems to be a major problem in Secunda and every where else. Sadly a very believable situation where we as tax payers are failed yet again by a government who simply dont care.

I love doing my own bike maintenance. It is a bit of a learning curve and it takes time to build up a nice set of tools. Can be a bit scary at times especially when doing things the first time but if you got Google, the HUB, some cycling mates its actually easy.

I ride XT crank with X7 shifters and derailleurs. I think if you are not strapped for cash I would just do complete XT but otherwise its really what you can afford.

I think you have hit the nail on the head ... I live in Gauteng and might use the motorway once in 2 months same situation. Put the petrol price up and everyone pays.

I have suspected this myself for quite some time now. You NEVER see them complaining about petrol prices. Same with the tolls taxis got exempted. I would really like to know if this was true. Perhaps there's a hubber out there who knows ?

I saw the *** coming in 2007 already and bought a motorcycle which I use everyday. My monthly petrol bill is currently about R450 a month. It used to be about R320 some years ago.

Does anyone know what replacement part I can get/ use to replace my bolts on a dura ace 7700 crank for the outer chain ring. The bolt is a M8*10.5 the part number is Y-1bm 98010. Any make or color as long as it fits and works If you have one spare that would also be great !!

You guys should do the Kinetic night series as well. Once a month at a different golf course. You run through the golf course and they host a 4k and 8 k run. Very well organized and very sociable. No TJOPS allowed.

I must just add one more thing I have noticed a significant increase in the amount of traffic in the suburbs between Randpark ridge, Honeydew and Sandton, Sunninghill over the last 3 weeks. I have also spoken to a number of other people who noticed the same trend. I think people are starting to find their way through the suburbs instead of using the highway in preparation for when the tolls kick in. When this happens we as cyclists, runners and pedestrians are going to be exposed to much greater risk to life and limb than ever before. May the pavement be with you.

I do a fair amount amount of cycling and running. These days I almost never ride my road bike any more simply because it is too dangerous. My MTB is doing overtime and so is the amount of time spent on pavements and anywhere else I have to ride to be safe. I am always courteous to everyone and no one seems to mind. I think though a bell is a good idea just to let people know you are coming. As for riding 1m from the edge of the road !! frikken no way

I need one (or a set) of chainrings bolt for a Shimano Dura Ace 7700 outer ring. The part number is Y-1BM 98010 the size is M8*10.5 Theres a bunch of aftermarket chain ring bolts on the CRC site but I have no idea which of these would be suitable replacement. Does anyone know where I can get such a set or know which replacement set I could buy.

+1 I use the same on my bicycles (MTB and Road) and motorcycle. I have found that chains on my motorcycle have not lasted using wax based lubes, as do chains using oil based lubes. Yes its messy and does make black but it works ...

Shooo this is a delicate topic but it has to debated so here's my 5c. In 2007 I flew from Heathrow to JHB. I was 5kg overweight. Me and everything I owned at that point in life. I was charged for the 5kg excess baggage. There was a humugus giant of a woman on the same flight who would never be able to sit in a single seat I would love to know what if any additional charges she paid ? I reckon just her body weight, never mind luggage, was at least twice me and all my luggage.

I know someone who is using Clenbuterol. He gyms a lot so not sure if it helps muscle mass but it definitely helps get rid of fat.
