  1. now that you have spent all that money replacing things, why not ride the bike for a little while longer before upgrading otherwise all that money spent will be for nothing.
  2. Gotta love IT. It probably caused by some wonderful Microsoft bug. Nice to be on the other side of the fence for a change. Normally I'm the one stressing trying to restore databases etc.
  3. Sounds like the same problem as mine with mtb races not showing on the pedal power website. Are your races showing on racetec? I've also got road races however that aren't being shown either. I've send them an excel spread sheet, showing all my missing races so we will see what they come back with. According to the girl I spoke to they are excluding any races. Yes I know some of the races aren't sanctioned by pedal power blah blah blah, but that doesn't explain why results that were on their site have disappeared.
  4. I see what you guys mean about them blaming racetec. I got told twice I need to speak to racetec. Why would I need to speak to racetec when they have ALL my results showing perfectly. Its on on PPA that a large majority of my races has disappeared (were there previously). Sigh, don't know why I'm really bothering about it as the only road races I do are the Burger and Argus. But then again, if mine is so wrong, there is a huge change that other peoples are wrong as well.
  5. Thanks to someone for mentioning them possibly deleting things. Just checked my seeding (still the old one) and its missing 38 of my 55 races !!! WTF !!!! I could understand if they only show the top races, but they are showing some of my worse races i.e 2005 when I first started cycling and the race that previously had the BEST index (Tour de Vino) is no longer there ????? Think once my seeding has been updated I'm going to have to have words with them. I've dropped a few groups since July last year. Sigh... All the long mtb races that I did are not there either. Bascially
  6. Stumpjumper expert is an AWESOME bike and with the brain on the rear shock, pretty good with the climbing.
  7. The Knysna road race is in July so they will need the seeding before then surely.
  8. For Jonkers / Tokai I find the Specialized Captains awesome. They also well at Hillcrest etc.
  9. The damage to the swithbacks was done before the downhill / all mountain on Sunday. The fun ride on the Saturday I think had something to do with it. Its only about 3 or 4 that aren't ridable for the average rider. U just walk them, and carry on with the ride. Won't stop me going there.
  10. Red Devil, was it your son that did the "All mountain race"?
  11. I had great fun doing the "All Mountain Race" at Contermanskloof on Sunday. As I was finishing my first run, I saw my hubby and almost 2 year old son waiting for me, was so cool. One of the spectators comments: "There is something wrong with this picture". He was referring to the women (me) having fun racing mostly downhill while the hubby babysits :-) Then got to go Easter Egg hunting and stuff my face on Hot Cross Buns.
  12. Does that include me. Hijack off. Well if you want to go on another hunt to find your stolen bike' date=' then by all means. I can help you by drawing a pirates treasure map for you of where you may find your bike in DuNoon. But maybe stay away from the big X though. I think even cycling through a dodge area in a group could be dicey. What if your attackers have knives? or worse a gun? They will hold the whole group hostage and take everything then. [/quote'] If you train on quiet roads, you get hijacked, if you train on busy roads, you get run over. So that leaves where to cycle if you are in the tableview / durbanville area??? I used to like riding my road bike as I could just walk out the door and ride. Now it seems as if we have to drive to a safer area to be able to ride without looking over your shoulder every 5 minutes. Glad you are ok and still have your bike!
  13. Nothing yet :-( I want a Garmin though or something similar.
  14. Saw a girl lying on the side of the road on the way home from Jonkershoek on Monday. Anyone know anything about this? 2 cars were stopped as well as a few cyclists. She was lying flat on her back just off the road with her bike lying next to her. Don't know if she was maybe hit by one of the cars?! Needless to say, my mood on the way home changed, never nice to see a fellow cyclist injured.
  15. Pity you aren't in Cape Town.
  16. Patience - for both of you! Easier said than done, its so frustrating not being able to cycle. I cycled up until 6 1/2 months and was told by hubby to stop (actually my bike disappeared from the house). I was pissed off.
  17. Congrats !!! She is beautiful. And born in a good month :-) Hope u didn't have any plans to upgrade your bike in the near future !
  18. I was disappointed with the number of arm bands worn. I only saw 3 other people wearing them...
  19. One positive for me is that I saw a lot less accidents than in my previous Argus rides. Only saw one guy being taken away by Ambulance on Chappies. Crowd was awesome especially Suikerbossie. I got an ice lollies, couple of good soakings and loads of encourgement. I went through more than 4 hours after the Lance group so even if they were just there to see Lance, well done to the supporters for staying there for the rest of us. Oh and the number of supporters there for the Elites was less than when I went through (tape the whole 5 hours). I also enjoyed the number of people dressed up for the world cup. Nice to see the spirit starting. My fav was the Bafana Bafance tandem. Crowd loved them to.
  20. http://www.health24.com/news/Columns/1-4411,55133.asp Looks like the news about the black arm bands is getting out.
  21. I've wanted to get a few stickers for a long time, but have no idea where to get them. As for the bibs at Pnp and Builders, where? I've not seen them at either of those stores in the Tableview area, but they are big stores so could just be that I haven't looked hard enough, or that they are not displayed somewhere that will catch peoples eyes. Thanks HeadMarshal for your dedication to the cause.
  22. The last group starts at 10 !!! If they made the gaps a minute longer, the poor guys would be starting close to 11am. Then they would be finishing after 5pm. I think they try there best to cater for everyone. The other option would be to have bigger groups, but this would mean more of a safety issue at the start.
  23. Stunning! I got some nice pics from Hill Crest on Friday as well. The views are amazing.
