  1. I miss my Topstone very much, was an amazing bike to ride 😪
  2. @ouzoI have a Fabric Scoop you can try out if you want
  3. What about Bontrager XR3 or XR2?
  4. I did the Jackal Dash thing there like 2 or so weeks back, it was pretty dry, there were muddy patches, but nothing really bad, I actually want to go there again soon, the trails are quite fun
  5. I hear you, and agree with you, just thought I would share the video.... Maybe you must contact Santa Cruz direct? You say that they were willing to send a frame, but Rush says no? Sounds sketchy to me, tell Santa Cruz that, I am sure there must be something in the warranty about a second owner having some sort of cover? Like Trek has provision for a transfer to a 2nd owner for 2 years I think after the initial purchase date...
  6. While I understand SantaCruz reponse to this guy in some way, it would also leave a horrible taste in my mouth if it happened to me, sadly as another poster mentioned "lifetime warranty" doesnt mean much, if anything most of the time.....
  7. Quick question, I am quite keen on the ROOK as well, but how is the 8 speed drivetrain? Is the 11-28 cassette with the 42 chainring sufficient for most climbing? I actually already know the answer for myself I guess, because I hate climbing, but there is a 8 speed ROOK in the classifieds and I need an excuse to say it will be fine.....
  8. 99% sure you could fit a decent size 29"/700c set of wheels on the rook....
  9. If it isnt Hellerman-Tyton it isnt a cable tie, it is a piece of kaka
  10. But you are also not using a POS device for the payments 🤷‍♂️ either way, I think it is in bad taste to charge extra for credit card purchases. Having said this, I have never had bad service from them, bought from them a few times, always had quick responses to the "quote" system, had a couple "no stock" replies, but they have always been within an hour or two of clicking the button, but they are also definitely not my go to shop....
  11. Funny enough, I read about this yesterday, well, for POS machines anyway, and it is not allowed, and should be reported to the bank that supplied the POS machine, having said that, I dont know if that would apply to online credit card purchases
  12. And then on the other hand I saw many MANY years ago, a local rally team finished a rally stage having tied their drive shaft up with cable ties because the drive shaft bolts came loose and got damaged and could not be used again
  13. Ya, not sure currently what shipping is like, but I ordered my bars about 2 months back, got to me in 4 days, but with the other happenings all over the world, you just dont know
  14. I got some NukeProof Carbon bars, 31.8mm diameter 800mm wide from Chain Reaction, they were/are on sale, think it was R1300ish, landed to my door, they are really nice, worth a look maybe
  15. Obviously was not A Sworks then....
  16. Oooo oooo, I just remembered, my 2nd car when I was 18, spent Saturday morning washing and polishing it and gave the motor a good cleaning as well, it was SHINING, then I decided to give it a service, spilled a little oil while filling it up, as one does, anyway, later that evening I was driving around, little bit of smoke coming from the bonnet, "must just be the spilled oil" I thought, it got worse, then even worse, so pulled over, forgot to tighten the filler cap 😭😭😭 oil EVERYWHERE spent Sunday cleaning everything again.....
  17. I can only imagine, I just recently changed the gearbox and diff oil in my van, what a *** job, and I have double cab, so there is at least some room to work, that job on car without a lift, no thank you....
  18. I laughed way too hard at this one 🤣🤣 I did this 1 time, now I check the sump at least 3 times before putting oil in 🧐
  19. Well that is annoying, I certainly did finish, but got a DNF on their page 😒 Edit : they "corrected" and I have a time now, came 14th apparently 🤣🤣 clearly the timing system has some issues, I was nowhere near that fast 🤣🤣
  20. Ciovita has a zipped pocket on the back you can fit a phone in
  21. The FOX Defend shirts are quite nice, and also the Ciovita trail shirts are pretty nice
  22. That is not at all what I am saying, I also have a bike that FAR exceeds my abilities, but I dont have to get off my bike to push it over a small mound of dirt or a couple roots crossing the trail
  23. I have absolutely no issue with the dealer selling a new rider the highest spec most expensive bike money can buy, but if the person has that kind of money, please, PLEASE, get some skills training, they would enjoy the bike SO much more if they had just a little bit of skills training... Having said that, one thing that was very nice yesterday, if you came up on a slower rider, they promptly let a person through when it was safe to do so, and likewise, faster riders were not overly aggressive or shouting at slower riders to move and waited patiently till a person could move over, it was the first time I have experienced behavior like that in a "race"
  24. Was also in B, also got caught in that confusion, and 1 or 2 other bottle necks, quite sad really, people spending boat loads of money on bikes that they cant ride over the smallest of obstacles 🤨 I am by no means a fit or very skilled rider, but sheesh... Otherwise I really enjoyed the route, nice flowing tracks, never ridden at NF before, so was a nice change, I definitely need to work on fitness though, that last 10km broke me.
