  1. Dont oil, grease
  2. Trail and Tar, Tokai Road, near the forest, I swear by them.
  3. The Triathlon is just too darn short to justify driving all that way. There is a massive dam, miles and miles of road and great running, they could be putting an iron distance or half ironman distance on there.
  4. Dangle my bro, I would give it up. There is more chance of this guy actually benefiting someone with a "battle plan" than him throwing down for a race. A year from now, when this thread has more posts than that smut thread, he will pull out. I am sure he will then tell you that knowing when to quit is a part of training for the epic and will benefit ones riding in the future, a bit like Mario Cipollini, one of the best bike racers and quitters of all time.
  5. wait three weeks and the gap is going to be down by 60%
  6. Busy googling fancy training jargon

Rather just enter the slanghoek tri in Rawsonville, close to home, not too expensive and someone else organises it, its on 17 Oct
  8. Not sure how good a fit the Richelieu brand is with cycling, I am personally quite put off by a booze sponsor. Secondly with a ban of booze advertising in the near future, this partnership probably doesn't have very long legs.
  9. I agree, that's why it is also important to cross train for the epic, you need to condition your mind and body to portage, sometimes long distances. Running or walking hill repeats (preferably pushing your bike) is essential training

  11. Spez did a hill climb TT with a 29'er & 26'er, the difference was really, really marginal, in favour of the 29'er. Not enough to make any difference to all but a podium contender (if you want to be a podium contender speak to Enticement)
  12. I agree in not trashing your drivetrain in training, thats what IDT, Road bikes, spinning classes and tantric stuff is for. But in racing if the conditions are rubbish, just tough it out and, a good wet weather lube, reapplied a few times and the odd clean off in a river will save the drivetrain, I have done plenty of long distance stuff, like Baviaans to know how to save a cluster, you just need to know how to manage your equipment. That being said, I have XT shifters and deraileurs but use mid range chains and sprokets (normally buy them in batches from CWC / Chain reaction to save a bit of cash and install them myself)
  13. I second that. The winning team has 2 Belgians, a Frenchy, German, Dutchman and a Slovak, not exactly a World Championship
  14. I haven't been to Bridge in years, this seals the deal, they wont see me again.
  15. If you want to race league or really get to the top of your game an IDT is indispensable. For the average rider, its a waste of time.
  16. I am happy to proof your ads for you, I will only take 50 % of your 15 %.
  17. hmm, that would be ad not add? Finding relevant product reviews of your products and posting links to them for prospective [bUYERS] in order to assist prospective buyers good luck further with keeping the grammar nazis at bay
  18. Yip I think his best place at World Champs was 5th, pity a WC would have capped a great career.
  19. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/contador-in-my-mind-ive-won-seven-grand-tours interesting point of view, not sure if I agree
  20. After all the chopping and changing that you put JB through I would also have kept your deposit.
  21. Ummm tougher or not the 94.7 is still rubbish, wont see me doing that again
  22. You won't need that if you ride the right way up the single track
  23. Sounds strange, I am very happy with mine. Any new tyres can be a bit slippery on the first ride due to the coating that is left on after manufacturing, I think that this is probably the problem, give them a few kays to get scuffed up a bit.
  24. Clothes, shoes, bags, etc... carry sufficient duty that when you add the duty, shipping vat etc.... you are better of buying local (that way you are also able to check fit), Complete bikes also carry sizeable duty. The way I see it CRC is the place for components, spares and tyres, but you need to wait until you can afford a big hit to avoid the shipping.
  25. I still maintain that Lance has a positive balance sheet, that he did more good than harm in his career. For that reason the boost that his sponsors gave him was beneficial, to cycling and to fighting cancer. My spending patterns won't change due to his decision to no longer fight the charges against him.
