  1. Last thing you want is a Run away bike....
  2. Shot thanx G
  3. Hi guys, looking at this thread again. Has anyone custom wrapped there bike. I assume you then have additional decals to stick on afterwards or what has most done. Would be nice to see before and after pics. How does cost compare to a custom respray?
  4. Gumi that is nice, landed cost all in?
  5. Like someone said many pages ago. We buy second hand to save bucks, sometimes big bucks, and we take that risk. We trust the pics and info we see, we trust our gut feel. I must say, selling 'for a Friend' can only end bad, rather just sell your own bike.
  6. Shot DD, noted.
  7. I think I have learnt something from all these posts, and I might be horribly wrong, but I only lube once a week, and that's me and my wife's bike, 60 to 80km per week. Yesterday was also the first time I ever decreased our chains, cassette, jockeys. Don't think I'm up for that once a week. Maybe once a month. Maybe a slightly dry chain versus over lubed is better, I don't know....but some valuable comments here none the less.
  8. I've also noticed grime build up on jockey wheels, is this normal? I lube once a week, we do 60km per week.
  9. Johan that looks flippen cool!! What kind of price you looking at for a spark, how long does it take? Does he take apart and assemble on his side?
  10. I agree. I love bike addict, there site is easy to view, to work out, bought tons of stuff from them, ONCE you get your quote emailed to you and you pay, the order only takes 2 days, BUT, its time they update. Quote cart is old school, list qty on hand, i can promise you, if they make these small changes they will increase turnover as allot of purchases are spur of the moment.
  11. They really need to improve there interface. Items need to show qty on hand when you place an order / quote. Cant email each time asking of this or that is in fact in stock. It will not be cheap but convert to a proper online system, like Rapide, love these guys, amazing service, easy check out system, the list goes on.
  12. I was also looking, need medium, seems they all sold out already. Hope they get new stock soon.
  13. I changed from stock crossmark 2's 2.25 front and rear to icons 2.35 front and rear. Bike shop suggested i do this as i am old school, hard tail, i will have a comfier ride. My thoughts after 1 week of 20kay rides. I am not sure if i am getting brain freeze but it feels as if my bike is slugish compared to when i had the 2.25's. BUT, when i look at my stats it shows the same stats, so it must be all in the head. The 2.35 is like riding on air almost, its weird, its a complete different experience. On long climbs i feel slower, but am i.....i think its playing mind games with me. On downhills, o my word! it feels as if i have a semi dual suspension, it is insane how a slightly larger tyre simply floats over everything. If i am losing time on uphills i am sure i am gaining it on the downhills. I like the 2.35 front and rear as my hard tail is not so hard anymore, if this makes sense. Doing my first 43km race this weekend on this new set up, keen to see how it shapes out. PS, i did weight the icons 2.35 and then the 2.25 ikons, i could swear they weigh the same give or take 10grams.
  14. 13.1KG.....Not bad but not great either, and 40k is still 40k. Mmmm,
  15. Very nice, what do these new alu versions weigh in at?
  16. That's nice, I like the minimal wheel graphics. Jokes aside, very nice colour scheme.
  17. The super calibre is my dream bike. Wish it were cheaper
  18. Has anyone migrated to discovery bank from the normal card. I keep on getting calls to do it. Don't want extra fees per month though. What are the actual benefits, must you have cash in savings at all times etc...
  19. If you take entry level wheel sets, like the ones that came on my wifes silverback stratos al5, they called sunrace i think, how much lighter will the Amps be? I understand its overkill, but surely it helps with rolling resistance as well?
  20. Try find the stiffest sole you can, trust me, it makes a big difference, the less flex you have the better.
  21. Are there any people, wives, who have gone the e bike route and bought Giant liv's, What did you come from before, how you finding it?
  22. Hi Chris, shot for the info. There are not many, well nothing, e bikes second hand tickling my fancy, and they are not small frames either. The other issue is hard ass or soft tail, dual. Maybe with an e bike dual is not really needed - i have no idea. Maybe 27+ wheels will soften the blow...? My wife has the silverback stratos dual, so not sure if going e bike route hard tail is the answer, dual is going to cost a crap load, but having her ride with me, probably faster than me on my normal bike would be cool. Going to do allot more research before i pull the trigger.
  23. Hi guys, shot for the replies, not sure why those cyclelab links dont work, but here are the range, i will give Giant durbanville a call for sure, in no hurry but i want to get best bang for buck. https://www.liv-cycling.com/za/bikes/electric-bikes/electric-mountain-bikes
