    Had these, nice yellow ones - they corroded badly. Aluminium cage ÷ carbon frame + bit of electrolyte from the bottle makes galvanic corrosion ☹

    I would prefer a more classical look, like the metal Elite cages, but: -Aluminium cages on a carbon frame is a corrosion problem waiting to happen. -The stainless steel cages I have tried were expensive, and they broke. The solution would be titanium cages, but these are hard to find, which left me st a plastic cage that matched my frame colour

    We did a few nice runs in the Cedarberg last weekend.

    I have Clifton (500km) and ATR (450km), they are not bad but I am not blown away.Im going with Asics Novablast for my max comfort shoe after the Cliftons.

    NB FuelCell TC quick review: These are great! I got them for faster paced long runs, but they felt good on a 4km TT too. Pros: Soft but bouncy ride, well priced for a carbon plated shoe. Light, vented upper. Cons: Soft midsole is a bit less stable, I have to be a bit careful taking fast corners. A touch heavy @ 280g (size 10)

    At least we are still talking about 2 levels of shoe. The cyclists now allow bikes with motors to race. (Which is like giving a medal to a guy completing Comrades on a Segway of you ask me)

    They are the top shoe company and can afford the best desiners and athletes. They have several shoes that look very tasty! Interestingly, some reviewers prefer the Next% to the Alphafly. (Next% 2 is launching now.)

    Sooo, how many push-ups to get max fitness score in 1 min? Ive always tested orange an the healthy heart score, so never got level 5 returns. I went for my yearly asessment in Feb, and this time their little device that tests cholesterol could give HDL, LDL and triglycerate numbers too. My total cholesterol was 5.65, but LDL was low and HDL higher, triglyceride ratio was very low, which gave me my first green rating ever. I now have to go do a fitness assesment, but my left hand is weak, it is a bit fooked ever since a car drove over it long ago. I am going to guess that I wont do well on a grip test, push-ups is a must.

    I like Chris Morris, I followed his career ever since he and Hardus Viljoen rocked that international t20 tournament in SA way back when. I dont know why he is not in the SA squad. He is clearly valued in the IPL, well done to him!

    Perhaps rim brakes are the better system for road bikes, all things considered?

    Some feedback after a few months: I am very happy with the Lelit Mara X. It has some clever patent pending tricks which makes it a joy to use: Smart boiler control with multiple temperature sensors and a auto pre-infusion gadget. These can be bypassed, but they work very well. The little Eureka grinder is great- quiet, low retention and easy dial.

    Parlee has a frame with a disk cover. Not UCI legal, though. Disk frames have more drag than the equivalent rim brake frames. Same goes for a wheel with a rotor. Imo a rim brake is a disk brake with a large 622mm disk. If you have a large disk, less force is needed and cabkes are ok.     We ran Hans se kop from Grabouw this morning. Permits now only available from Trail's End in Grabouw - it is a nice place to stop.

    You have to follow the M6 to Hout Bay, and then up Hout Bay rd /Rhodes drive. There are no mtb routes that connect these points, but Hout Bay rd has a narrow dirt shoulder that you can ride with a mtb.

    Nice to have a test in Pakistan again after so long, the UAE tours was just not the same ???? SA could have made better use of batting first, but not a bad position to be in. I think the match will only last 3 or 4 days on that pitch.

    Bottom line is that the missing link is stil missing. The start of thetrail has few rocky uphill stretches that needs a lot of power to maintain enough momentum to ride. My mate with his short travel mtb was very grumpy - climbs are easier on a trail bike here. After climbing you get some nice flowy trails, but we ended in 3 deas ends: 2x blocked and 1x not finished. We bundu bashed down to the tar, did not feel like riding back the way we came.

    I found some parts for my build on CRC, just waiting for the DHL man.

    Ive bought several casual pairs, very happy so far. Optically they seem to work as advertized - polarized and reduced glare. Ive bought a photochromatic pair as well, have not used these yet. I have also not tested the warranty.

    I have been able to allocate a bit of ZAR to finish a Colnago build (long overdue). Frame is C50 in PRAL I need help with finding the perfect parts, and thought to put it on here as well, in case somebody has a lead to a shop, website or spares for sale. 1. White stem, 130mm White stems are hen's teeth it seems, and 130mm is a bit of a challenge to source too. Absolute 1st prize would be like the attached one, but no stock at the online shops. 2. White handlebar - not a fasionable colour atm. 3. Saddle - black with a bit of white highlights would be perfect. Ive been most happy on Selle Italia SLRs, have switched to riding the flow version at some point. I have a black and red as in the pic on my Eddy Merckx, cant find a white one online. Probably discontinued ????
