  1. @Andymann, I'm curious about this trailer. I'm assuming the channel is attached directly to the axle, without any leaf spring in between? Does it not bounce around? I'd be keen to build something similar, to tow 2 MX bikes. Please post some pics when you get a chance.
  2. A friend of mine has a Nicolai with a Pinion gearbox. I’ve had a pedal on it, it is very nice the way it shifts. It is probably the same bike @Graham W is referring to.
  3. I have a pair of Radar Lock's. Bought new with 3 lenses, 1 Grey, one Rose and one polarized Grey. The glasses and lenses get stored in an Oakley case. The coating on the rose lens started to crackle first, about 2 weeks later the grey lens and about a month later the polarized lens. Almost as if all had reached their sell by date at the same time. I've always been an Oakley fan, but will not be replacing these with Oakley's after this experience.
  4. No pics, but my eldest son and I took the offroad bikes for a quick 60km around the koppie ride yesterday late afternoon. It clouded over quickly, so we ended up being rained on, and it was nearly dark when we got home. So lekker to be out on a bike, in the veld, when the first real rain of the season hit.
  5. I may have missed the reason, but why did you decide to sell the old Katoom to replace it with this old Katoom? I thought you just had the other one nicely sorted?
  6. And did she ever find Marietjie…?
  7. Depends on how far you live from your nearest Cycle Lab... 🤪
  8. While we are busy with Macro's/Close Up's, these were taken by my son, he suddenly has taken an interest in photography.

  10. This fork would look lekker on that frame. It's steel, QR, straight steerer, not sure of the mounting type though. It has a Lynskey badge on it, but I've never been able to find much info about it. I'd consider breaking down the bike, and selling the fork, the bike was a "Monster Cross" project, but rarely gets ridden.
  11. Howzit Ja, I check in here every now and again, but rarely comment, suppose it's like my cycling these days, sporadic at best... Hope you are well? I must come and see your shop sometime!
  12. As long as the hole count of the hubs matches the hole count of the rims, I don't see any reason why this can't work.
  13. Yup, my boys started out on one of these, then on to a balance bike, skipped the training wheels and straight onto big boy bikes. Now my eldest doesn't ride a pedal bike anymore, he has a 125 MX Bike.
  14. No, Mike. Not sure what his place was called. Was a few years ago. I’ve DMed the number to Sampaj
  15. What area are you in? I had a Lynskey frame fixed by a guy that had a workshop at Rand Airport. Not sure if he’s still there but can share his number.
  16. Beautiful Highveld morning!
  17. You've been pedaling a bike a bit, saw some pics of you out riding with Jay and his family.
  18. See it's set up as a SS, did you ride the Munga SS?
  19. I once bought him a coffee after recognizing him in the coffee queue at the 24 hour at Rietvlei from his shoes that used to be part of his profile pic, or one of his skating pics. After that we chatted from time to time, until he passed. RIP Tumbles.
  20. Excuse my ignorance, but what makes a Tri Bike different that it needs a specialist mechanic? Except for geometry, different saddles and tri-bars and shifters, the mechanics of the bicycle remain the same as a normal road bike? Am I missing something?
  21. 1st post on a cycling forum to ask What is the best mx bike... Ok, I'll bite. You are going to get a number of responses, based on each persons' opinion and personal experience. Based on results in the SA MX racing scene, it would be tough to argue that KTM is not the best, with championship wins in most of the contended classes for the past few years.
  22. You've always posted nicely composed pics, but were always camera shy, these days you post a lot more selfies, albeit still "hidden" behind your shades...!
