Hi, good people.
Any pointers on what's available route-wise near CSF/Ct Francis Bay?
I do the local loop a lot, have done Wildside, Oyster bay road, Paradise beach road etc...
Any routes I don't know about?
Struggling to find a solid higher mileage option.
Don't mind travelling a bit, so any pointers would be much appreciated!!
Dankie baie!!
Hiya.
Vertical dropouts on that, I'm afraid.
Fixed on that would be problematic, singlespeed less so.
The literati can correct me if I'm wrong, but a fixed-gear bike will not be very happy with a tensioner attached.
A tensioner or a half-link chain should do the trick to make it SS quite easily.
Good luck.
Chro Mo.
He will have mine[emoji106][emoji108]

RIP, Barry.
I, too, have not been on The Hub (can't shake that habit - sorry) for a long time, but this brought me back after a heads-up by RyanPmb.
I always appreciated the unsolicited, yet incredibly helpful, supportive and heartfelt PMs during a bad patch I had a few years ago.
The world is poorer for his passing.
Heartfelt condolences to all his friends and family.
Thanks again, people.
Appreciate the advice.
Great info, guys!
Thank you so much.
Going to lekker rolling through those dorps.
I was also told that Baviaans was out due to buffalo and black Rhino.
i hope i can find decent spots to camp on the way.
Thanks again.
An appeal to the gravel gurus of the area...
Does anyone have a route for a trip from St Francis to Uniondale using mostly gravel?Would be great to get pointers on camping etc as well.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi, everyone
plenty cx bits n bobs for sale here...
https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/204024-road-bikes/
sadly have to sell my Cotic X and all things attached to her. Here she is below in happier times.
All of the above, man. Awesome bike!
Cyclo cross, gravel grinder or touring bike. .... no idea what it is but damn it's a sweet ride
V12 you have been very quiet... what was in the box good sir?
In the interim, I was finally able to build this and bring it home... I am blown away by how good the frame, wheels and brakes are. The cable-hydro brakes work brilliantly (TRP HY-RD). I went with the AC Race MTB wheels for longevity. They are light and roll amazingly well. I had no issues sitting in a road group this morning. A massive thanks to Eddy and Chainworx. On the flipside of this new shiny coin, it is sad to see the Orange Cotic in a box in the cupboard. I will clean it up and post it for sale soon.
I saw this bike in the flesh yesterday - Jono showed me...
Awesome, beautiful, stunning - all these words spring to mind.
Wow!
Congrats!!!!
I think you need to look at the verdict in context of the practice pre 2008,then it makes more sense.
It was actually some retailers who wanted price control and got support from distributors . One retailer famously posted the minutes and the other I believe was a large nation wide franchise.
I think the verdict is pretty fair based on behavior at the time of the complaint
I remember the then owner of said nationwide franchise chatting about this meeting on a certain cycling-related programme, saying it was just a discussion etc.
I remember being somewhat discomfited at the time,
I have converted a 29er hard tail – was quite easy and cost effective.
More of a “monster bike” than an actual cyclo cross bike, but does the same…
LIKE!!! - a lot
Love this type of build!
I wonder how many CSA/Sascoc Officials will go to the Worlds and Rio?
The answer to that is easy: ALL OF THEM. No way those fat, bloated, entitled varkies are going to miss an opportunity to spend money that could be used for athlete development.
We cannot foster excellence by rewarding mediocrity - no matter what the motive.
Simple as that.
a few for a monday
That fork is a winner!
some cotic pics for a Friday afternoon
Sexy bike, that.
Amazing!!!
it looked like the dog was slowing down sometimes...
RIP, dude.
..... although, Sheldon Brown was known to have done something similar...
More pics.
If I could make a suggestion. Putting a cut off piece of tube around the seatpost seems to hold the bag in position even better, not that it bounces around as it is. Also protects the seatpost.
I've seen them in the flesh and the quality seems very good.
I will take one with the modification we discussed, please...
Drop by the shop if you need a deposit or such.
Thanks a lot.

Been a looong time....
Still have my two Cotics, have tried to sell them, but they are a part of me now, lol!
Red X is was repainted by me and logo painted on - not very well, but I learned a lot.
Still the best bikes I've owned.
