  1. Does no one want to answer this question? Let me see if I got this right. firstly you need to go an do a power test by places Like Bikemax or i was lucky enough to have Bruce help me. There you'll do a test to see what you Functional threshold power is . this will help you see at what level you training at . but of course you'll need a power tool such as a powertap hub or Srm's or ergomo. this test wiil determine how much power you can maintain for 20min , which is like your max power Lets say you can maintain 360Watts and you weigh 75kg then your power to weight ratio is the difference between the two which would be 4.8W/kg. or somthing like that.
  2. I'd give my left you no what for that kinda power ratio !! I think a lot of people would be somewhat disappointed in what real sustainable power output they are able to achieve!! Tell me about it!!! Had my wings cliped very quickly!!!!
  3. I'd give my left you no what for that kinda power ratio !!
  4. How does one fix a punctured tubby? You surely don't throw it away and buy a new one? Ive heard in the old days they used to unstitch the seem and pull the tube out and repair them. But these days I think tubbies are made a bit different cause I dont see any stitching , I also dont know anybody thats tried and been successfull at repairs. So every puncture one gets , sets you back around R500.

    SRAM

So i see Totalcycling have Sram in stock ..BUT the price!!!! for a company thats trying to break into the road market I feel they sure going about it the wrong way. Sti levers are more than twice the price of the proven Campag Record. chain sets twice the price ....and so on and so on...
  6. would love to see some "REAL" accurate results and tests done on all these power thingys , all done under the same conditions. I think If one is intrested in power training and want to invest in a training tool like a powermeter then rather spend the extra cash, once you ad all the extras , pro's and cons to the Ibike then I feel rather go for something a little more expensive.
  7. let say: You where riding on a flat rode at 15km/h at the same wind intake as ......lets say 15km/h up 7% gradient climb ..how the hell does it no you climbing and that your power usage has just doubled.
  8. But wouldn't a strong cross wind affect the readings .
  9. dirt-rider stick to the topic!!! dont try discuss something which you no nothing about. Try getting all the facts before voicing your opinion.

  16. Trek ssLx ( for the stiffness) with Bontrager XXX lite OCLV 55 carbon wheels 970g a pair . Boron XXX lite bars 160g , But I think the bikes rigidity plays a bigger factor than trying to get the weight to low........Unless you one of those Columbian climbers that weigh 50kg's.
  17. You saw them after 5 hours on the bike. bruce should be sorted out this week. We lucky to have be part of our team for next year , he'll bring some valuble training knowledge over to us which hopefully will show in the hole teams performances.
  18. A wild guess here...but does the frame maybe look like this , except under the paint work is hidden a ssLx
