  3. O boy, a real thread.
  4. Ratio for h2h, 1 part pain to 2 parts fatigue.. good luck.
  5. Mtb runs at 2 bar, road runs at 8+bar. I would not try a road tire repair. I would however use a damaged tyre on the stationery trainer.
  6. Dood, parraffin is oil based. It belongs far away from a rotor.
  7. Car wash has a wax / polish in it. Dish washing liquid is best, I wash all components - even the disks.

    Spare Tube

As a backup in a race, has anybody run a 26inch tube in a 29 inch wheel? Obviously lighter and smaller to carry. Read this sometime ago in Ride but need a view from those with experience.
  9. As normal, ITS GOING TO HURT

    Your computer is not accurate??
  12. Tubeless are a real good option on the road. Sudden flats are reduced.

  14. Simple, fitement of the lid on your PIP... I ride the gage, that thing is light and feels like a toy. Really nice lid!!
  15. At R120K, a superbike is easy decision. I will not spend that on a mtb.
  16. Operating costs are increasing, some companies pass a percentage to the consumer while absorbing a share themselves. Bike and such (direct importers) appear to simply pass a BIG increase to us while blaming the exchange rate. Rand looses 10% value - consumers then see a 30% price increase on the shop floor. Swiming seems a better sport, goggles and a speedo...
  17. On a mountain bike, 4000 km on a single chain WILL eat your cassette. I maintain my bikes very well and use a park chain toll to measure wear, depending on mud / dust / lube used you will battle to get 2000 km on a singe chain before it is worn to the point of needing replacement. Going over 2000 km on a single chain will mean a worn cassette and worn rings.
  18. I have a simple rule, I ride the bike = I work on the bike. When heading down a hill at 90+ kph, I need to be sure each bolt is in place. I only trust myself....
  19. Guys, Its like buying a 2lt Coke at the Ultra City and trying to equate the price to Spar...
  20. If I shave, my wife says she will stop!
  21. Simply no other options!
  22. I battled to seat my Ikons, my compressor @ 8 bar failed !!!! Used a bomb as the last resort, slime vanished!!! Once seated my Icons did leak a little air but after the 1st ride I had no further issues at all. Due to the packing of the tyre (all folded) seating proves a challenge, try putting a tube in the tyre over night. The tube helps the tyre to take the correct form enabling you to seat the tyre a lot faster the following day.
  23. Have you ridden the dura ace 9000 bakes?? I suspect NOT.....
