  1. Racing has come and gone. If you have ever heard of Zululand time, bmx officials have the ability to make Zululand time seem fast.
  2. Get stronger legs,a 11-25 is enough for most hills.
  3. My gt comes in at a little over 9. Running a 36 / 16.
  4. Get over it. Today I drove 5km at 30 kph behind a truck. Respect others and relax.
  5. Let your wallet decide.
  6. Yip, two plates for the old man.
  7. Not sure on your model but the xtr set are removable with a grub screw.
  8. More details! But why use your brake? They simply slow you down.
  9. Been off the bike since early May! Fitness gone for a ball of chalk.
  10. Wtf! Adverts
  11. Been through this, you will have to claim from the road accidentfund. That is why it is there and it almost indemnifies drivers! You can only claim once per accident so find a lawyer and make sure you are well 110% before claiming.
  12. Your best combination will be a gel roller trainer with a trainer tyre. Both contribute to a quiet ride.
  13. It is easy, a grub screw holds the secret. Pics and model details will help.
  14. No difference. I only ride road helmets, mtb and road. Mtb peaks are a waste of time.
  15. No difference. I only ride road helmets, mtb and road. Mtb peaks are a waste of time.
  16. I race a lot of mtb, a fair bit of road and a little bmx. Road and mtb are a very good combination. Look for a shimano 105 groupset. Try merida, scott or giant. At R15000 you will get a very decent bike. Your ZAR's will get more road bike than mtb.
  17. I hope the old disks were clean before they were introduced to your new XT pads.
  18. I run mine from the rear wheel - Simply go wireless.
  19. None!! Bicycling is full of adverts and frankly a waist of time. Ride is good (currently subscribe) but won't review as the content has become a ride/race review mag over the years. What's with the useless buyers guide at the back?? Tread is good but you can read/learn a lot on the net for free.
  20. Road or mtb?? Level ? Ability ?
  21. 50/34, F & R callipers, cassette 11-28 is light. I run a 53/39 with an 11/25.
  22. When I made my purchase, my lbs quoted R26000 (a competative price if I do say so). Thants a 3rd more than the UK!! I don't see the gap shrinking today. Merlin was fast, 1 week from order to delivery! UPS was included in the price. Merlin is one of the few stores which offer groupsets. Crc sell parts ard will cost more. I am a shimano man, I did not even bother with sram. But now that disks are on offer, I may look a litle wider...
  23. I ride the 9000 groupset, love it!! Merlin Cycles (UK) supplied mine, delivered to SA incl vat and customs R 17000. This was in mid Dec 2012 when the set was launched. The present exchange rate will however hurt.
