  1. Sits nice and flush with the sole. Much better support! Holding thumbs that the extra contact helps. Bloody heavy pedals though 😣
  2. Against all the advice I have new pedals arriving today. Shimano Saint with the nice fat platform. I'm thinking the flex in the 2FO soles will be taken up by the platform based on my conversation with someone that uses them and had the same problem. @Harryn I believe the specifications for shoes will give an indication of what to expect of the stiffness of the sole. Carbon fibre being the stiffest and skate shoes being the most flexible.
  3. I'd keep the Rockhopper and upgrade some components. Lighter wheels and tyres comes to mind. What components do you currently have and what is on the Momsen that attracts you to it?
  4. This will sound weird but I've never had one before. Never felt like I needed one as I never had pain or discomfort on the bike. On the new bike I had some hand pain and elbow discomfort. Rolling the bars forward sorted that out 100%. Just the damn feet man. But as you say... the older we get. I booked a session with Richard Baxter for next week. Throwing money at the problem will make it go away.
  5. Thanks. Will have a look.
  6. Which joint? Closest to the ball of the foot?
  7. Seriously considering just chucking all this clipless nonsense and sticking to flats. I had my arches etc checked and Specialized's machine recommended the blue footbeds for my arch type. My shoes are not too tight. I have plenty of room in the toe box section and I've tried different pairs of socks. My guess... Time for a bike fit with the emphasis on cleat setup then.
  8. Time to resurrect this thread instead of creating a new one. I've read that normal sized SPDs and a flat pedal style shoe will cause issues. Exactly what I'm experiencing. Pain on the 5th metatarsal on both feet after about 10kms on the ride. I use Look Xtrac Race pedals with Specialized 2FO shoes. I assume a pedal with a platform like the XT trail for example will help support the foot and reduce the pain? I've tried multiple cleat positions and I've had my feet mapped and using the matching inner soles.
  9. Forekaster
  10. Sorry to hear this but how difficult is it to type "weird cop" and "0821231234" into your own phone. You never hand a stranger your phone...
  11. I’m sure I voided the warranty on the fork but I just can’t have a bike anymore without the OneUp EDC system. Thanks for the epic service Trailwolf Cycles.
  12. Garden Route: - Harkerville - Cairnbrogie MTO (Can spend a whole week riding just these trails) Rode both in June and it was EPIC!
  13. Can't unfortunately on a platform rack. We now use the lady's car that is lighter on fuel. It hurt driving down to Knysna from JHB at 8.8l/100km
  14. What year is this?
  15. Yup. Makes at least a 1.5 to 2l/100km difference to my fuel consumption. I drive Kia Sportage which is quite high in the back and the wheels don't protrude too much on the side either. I definitely notice it. This cover will definitely add more drag and put more pressure on the bikes and tow bar. I'm sure they tested it but...
  16. Nah. Unless you have only one arm I don't see the benefit.
  17. Agree. A mountain bike is going to get dusty as soon as you start your ride anyways. A cloth and a spray bottle with water is more than what you need to wipe the dust off your bike when you get to your destination.
  18. Yeah… it’s a no from me.
  19. Looks like a giant airbrake. Wont that add a ton of drag?
  20. I was hoping there would be a firmware update for my trainer to see if that resolves it. How do you even roll these back?
  21. First ride in a while last night and I noticed something odd. Cadence is all over the place if I don't have consistent power on the pedal. Being a post covid recovery ride I was on a super light setting in Systm which required a max of 70W output. When I kept to the 70W it will ready fine but the second I slowed down a little the cadence will sit at 120rpm. (Wahoo app and Systm showed this) As a result my 30 minute ride showed as 80.4 km done. My understanding is that the cadence is virtual which makes sense so it isn't calculating correctly. Anyone else experience this? I did a spindown which made no difference. Kickr Core.....(my third one since 2020 and I'm not impressed)
  22. The little plate where the dropper post cable enters the frame. The stock bikes came from Cyclelab with just a normal blanking plate installed. The plate with the port for the cable was a special order.
  23. Looks like you got the little cable guide for the dropper post cable.
  24. Looking snazzy with those skin walls. Interesting to see some come with the Orbea housebrand cranks and some with the Shimano cranks. Still really love mine. Dropper and wider bars made all the difference for me. Also did the Vittoria Barzos. Great tyres.
