  1. Lets try that again:
  2. Ryans Adams - Very cool cover of Iron Maiden's Wasted years. <iframe width="420" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/82SaWx3-gks" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  3. Heres mine....
  4. I looked at few other places and they were all out of stock and eventually found at Sportsmans. Also when shopping for a Suunto for my girlfriend, I looked everywhere to try find the ladies model, everywhere told me they dont have stock but can order. When I got to Sportmans they had stock of virtually every model, and accessories. Downside, they seem to be the most expensive.
  5. Sorry, just saw that you want to get it preferably online.
  6. I got my 705 replacement from Sportsmans Warehouse.
  7. In Waves - Trivium. Awesome opening drum intro
  8. Interesting article attached, about the overconsumption of refined carbohydrates.
  9. Yes, I love mine. Best grips I have used.
  10. Myself and 2 friends have been using the mk tubeless version for last 2,5 years (front wheel). Not a single puncture as yet.
  11. Another conflicting article (from a gyming/non endurance point of view). http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki1.htm Try the protein calculator at the bottom, gives you 3 different options. (last 2 options seem crazily high). For endurance I don't think this much is necessary. "Another study conducted at the Letterman Army Institute of Research in San Francisco showed that subjects on a higher protein intake (2.8 g/kg/day), coupled with intense strength training, gained a whopping 3.28 kg (7.2 lbs) of lean mass. The study was done over a 40-day period and the subjects were trained to near exhaustion (2). Another study of weightlifters over a 3 month period, with the protein increased from 2.2g/kg/day to 3.5 g/kg/ day, resulted in a 6% increase in muscle mass and a 5% increase in strength." "Hopefully you've been convinced that a high protein intake is not "evil". Protein has been typecast as something that will make you big and strong, but muscle growth is not controlled by the level of protein one takes; rather it is the growth demand caused by intense training or stress that will ultimately determine how much protein one should take in. We don't have to consume an extraordinarily amount of protein, but the proof of the pudding is that taking more than the RDA when exercising is not only safe, but beneficial."
  12. Here is an article thats say up to 2g per kg is perfectly safe, and may improve the training adaptations to exercise training. http://www.jissn.com/content/4/1/8 Another one saying 2 - 2.5kg would be the upper limt: http://journals.humankinetics.com/ijsnem-back-issues/IJSNEMVolume16Issue2April/AReviewofIssuesofDietaryProteinIntakeinHumans I was just saying that that it what can be taken. My view is that 1.5g is more like reasonable amount to eat daily when training hard. Just follow a good balance diet and you will be fine.
  13. For strenght training / muscle building they recommend 1 - 1.2grams per Pound of body weight. So its about 2.2 - 2.4 grams/kg.
  14. Is this the MK 1 or MK2? Anyone tried the new MK2?
  15. I have been taking anti histamines almost every day for many years now. I am currently taking Deselex (Desloratadine), find this works the best for me, and can even take it every second day. I have not noticed any side affects (even from the first generation formulations), but been taking for so long now that this may be my "new normal". Will try not taking this for 2 days before my ride and see if it makes any difference.

    TEAK

+1, I have also never enjoyed Teak. You should try Kings Kloof, 100 times better than Teak. I am going to try Rietvlei for the first time tomorrow.
  17. Taken from the post they made on their facebook page... “Applicants will have from midday until 9pm to register their details on our website. Those who raced last year will be recognised by the system and given preference." Seems like the system didnt recognise most of last years entrants, and they are all on the waiting list now.
  18. Na, not so bad. Some sections we shortish and some were long. Didnt look close to the moonscape at teak place.
  19. Rode at KK for the first time on the weekend. The route is very good, challenging up and downhills, awesome technical sections, but FUN the whole way with awesome views and great single track. Dont be fooled by the distance, its a tough 20 odd km's. I can see myself spending a lot more time at Kings. Oh, and I didnt see another rider on the trail the whole time I was there.
  20. Im with Miway. Had a claim from a crash during a race, and they paid out within a few days. They asked for a quote to replace my bike and paid cash into my account.
  21. Thanks, I will check it out.
  22. Can you send me some info too? My Sid is in need of a service as well.
  23. Another drug that is similar to Salbutamol is Clenbuterol. Clenbuterol is used medically as a bronchodilator, but also used off-label as a weight loss drug and performance-enhancing drug. I think it is possible that an asthma pump can give you an unfair advantage. It's funny how so many pro athletes are being treated for "exercise induced asthma"!
  24. Totally awesome. I dont think I would ride half the single track in a non race enviroment. Having medical backup around eases your mind a lot when riding some of the insane drop offs. Route marking was good, never once doubted the marking!
  25. The 60km by far has the best single track / route I have ever ridden! Shorter distance was still as tough as last year; my time was the same as last years longer route. Also did the XC on the sat, and some of those rock gardens and drop offs were madness. The supertubes section had my heart pounding more than bunjee jumping did! The only negative I have that we got held up by back markers of the batch in front of us in the first single track 2km into the race, all the way till the exit by the 40km route split. Last year I started in the same batch and had nobody in front of me. They need to either make the batches smaller, have better seeding system, or have 10min interval batch starts. The route and single track far outweight any negatives. I'll wait in traffic, park far away, get a shirt too small, get no medal etc etc, just to ride the route again and again!
