  1. Also did stage 7 yesterday on the Scott Spark. Weirdly i had a permanent dropout, right from beginning to the end I was the only on the course, even in the start chute. I might ride it again tomorrow, I really like the jungle route. I also have to make up stage 3.
  2. No, you’re ZAR300 down after my comm.
  3. Seeing as Slowbee is prepared to shlepp out there (but hasn’t read the thread obv), here is a suggested solution: Send the fork to Slowbee; Slowbee returns the fork to Morne, only in exchange for your refund in hard cash. Slowbee eft’s you the refund, less 10% for his time, petrol and bank charges. Prob solved. If we have Slowbee buy in. And if Morne has the cash.
  4. Thanks, I will check the QR tightness. I have been thinking about experimenting with a couple drops of bike oil where the QR meets the Kikr. My brain says yes, but my gut says “don’t be more stupid than you already are.” [emoji2356] A cheap fork ain’t gonna do it, I have a road bike [emoji2186] mounted. Thanks for the help.
  5. I am also having fun on Tour De Zwift, though I am being killed every ride. I missed stage 3, so will have to go back amd do it on one of the make up days. I believe its very hard. My trainer, is very quiet and smooth when sitting. But, as soon as I stand I get this very loud creaking noise, which really is getting to me. I dont know if its the drivetrain or the trainer. I suppose I should take the bike and ride it outside, or mount another one on the trainer to see. (I have just oiled the chain). Anyone experienced something similar? Any ideas?
  6. The epic fail in the ad is of course having the two idiots approach a lady in such a threatening aggressive way. Totally tone deaf, and really damaging to the brand. An apology is indeed appropriate.
  7. No man. It would be like pissing on a Picasso in broad daylight.
  8. Hello Slowbee, have you heard about the internet?
  9. Agreed! I also rode there yesterday. I missed that first section, and judging by your description am glad. I was surprised that even the gravel road hugging the boundary fence was overgrown in places. Anyway, I still had lots of fun, though work got in the way and cut it short. Cant wait to go back.
  10. Why is this not covered by the frame warranty?
  11. That’s fantastic news, I am very happy for you. You have had a great recovery. May it continue from strength to strength. Ps. How is your cat?
  12. Wow. I was there 2 weeks ago, and it was nothing like that. How is the section after the “long” wooden bridge? as that was already pretty muddy then, before all the rains.
  13. Your ability to make your point succinctly, without being insulting or attention seeking, is truly remarkable.
  14. I have treated myself to a pair of Continental GP4000’s (at a great price)from cwc for the past few years, my only nod to BF. But, they are no more [emoji22]. Now cwc have GP5000’s. At ZAR1050 for ONE. wtf [emoji2959]
  15. Leave the off topic threads. And leave them totally unmoderated. Just put a note up there that says play at your own risk. And let us kill each other. It makes us happy, and gives a sense of purpose to our otherwise empty lives. Yes, I know there is some smart arse now who will tell me to go ride my bike or something.
  16. I have always just rocked up to Holla trails, and mostly found a few like minded holiday makers and locals to tag along with. Also have ridden there lots on my own without issue, though its probably ill advised these days. But I am sure East Coast Cycle club have plenty organized mountain bike rides, so give them a shout.
  17. Hi. I am very interested in your camera. Its for my nephew. I am on an oil rig in the North Sea. Please send banking details.
  18. Amazing. May you ride from strength to strength.
  19. Fascinating. My doc’s protocol was that you go to a physician for a full work up 2 weeks pre op, and she clears you. Then you are admitted to hospital the day before surgery, consult Anaethetist immediately upon admission, and immediately start Xarelto injections. Then you start showering with disinfectant. This was 2 years ago. Nothing was left to chance, it was really reassuring. I am not looking forward to going through the ordeal again, but I will have one day. You also only get to go home when your wound drainage has stopped.
  20. I meant 1 hour *every* day is too much. The soft tissue is still healing. But I suppose, everyone is different. If you’re not yet feeling elevated pain levels or stiffness, you are prob good for it. I found the spinning classes I used to go to pre-op were just too much after the replacement. especially the high cadence sprints. I probably went back too early though, and did the 90 min classes, so It could have been a case of too much too soon. Anyway, i have not gone back to spinning, but I spend a bit of time still on the Kikr, so i don’t really miss it. Your cat is so cute!
  21. Nice post, good to see your progress. You need those 2 hour naps. Your body is still recovering and it saps you so much more than you realise. Are you still taking pain meds? I am happy for your cat. Post a pic of him / her. I know you’re not gonna listen, but spinning for an hour every day is too much at 5 weeks.
  22. I suffered with this for a very long time. Nobody could get rid of the noise. We replaced the BB cups, and one bike shop even used loctite, then would not take ownership of that spectacular f up, which caused a breakdown in the relationship. I never went back there after years of doing business with them. It was a loud clack and it drove me absolutely bonkers. My riding mates did not enjoy it, and I complained bitterly and frequently about it to my wife. She spouted all the comforting words she knew I needed to hear, but I knew she didn’t really care a damn. I was all on my own in a bottomless pit of despair. So, I tried to talk it all through with my daughter was about 20 at the time. She thought I was certifiable. Eventually, in desperation, I wrote to the frame manufacturers, and lodged a warranty claim. They promptly wrote back to me telling me to take a flying leap. But they added that the campy bb is the teeniest bit smaller in diameter, and they advised applying Shimano anti-sieze paste. So I printed the email, took it with the bike to one of the bike shops who were endeavoring to resolve the issue, and they did the deed. And voila - the noise miraculously went away. Until 4 years later when I serviced during lockdown and forgot to tell the guy to use the paste. And it was a repeat of all the misery I had gone through in 2016, only there was no Covid then, so things were arguably a lot worse this time around. My mask did not dampen the sound, and my mood was super puss. Eventually, I remembered about the anti-sieze paste thing, and got it re applied. But this time around, the noise did not disappear instantly. It took good few km to “ride it in”. But, now its as quiet as a church mouse again. Disclaimer. I am not giving advice cos I have zero technical knowledge. Just relaying my own experience. Anyway, I was ready to get rid of the bike, so I can relate to the frustration. I once clacked all the way from Pietermaritzburg to Moses Madiba irritating the hell outta every Amashova participant who Had the chutzpah to pass me on my not so merry way. I deserved a medal.
