  1. i recently built up a old Giant boulder with serious mix match parts- it has V brake at rear, cable disks in the front.. that type of thing... Anyway- the fork that is on there is from my old 26" anthem and the front wheel too. i broke the rear triangle on the anthem. defiantly NO damage to front of bike what so ever. Right, so do the build put the fork in with the correct headset etc and perfect fit! Not so... now when i ride... the front wheel is off center... to the left if you are looking down on the fork from the riding position.. its fine when i ride in a straight line but the moment i try stand and pedal, or pedal hard, the wheel brushes up against the crown of the fork as you can see in the pic with red arrow. so i cant stand and peddle up a short sharp hill etc... it just waves around.... i have checked for loose items but everything seems fine?? I have set the fork pressure since the pic was taken and still it did it. the fork and front when are from the anthem minus the hydraulic caliper. it never did this on the anthem? Any ideas...???
  2. Cool. thanks.
  3. Can this fork be altered to be 100mm?

    FSA Crank vs. Others.

Great info guys, Masterlink, thats what im worried about that the carbon give and the parts spin. i know with the the XT the pedals are turned into the metal crank arm and cant "strip" unless something bad happens. but a few serious knocks on the crank will do nothing. Maybe i should just stick with what i know, i don't really feel like running around trying to "make it work" with other parts etc....
  5. im busy with a New build- XTC 29er. what i would like to know form the guys who know is how does the FSA MTB crank- this one- http://www.fullspeed...TRIPLE-Crankset compare to the likes of XT or XO? it will be a tripple 44 32 24. From what i can see the FSA is the lightest but that is the least of my concern. i would like to know who uses one and how durable are they? Spares prices and who is best to go to for spares. thanks allot!
  6. Eish guys... these pic's REALLY make me love being out there so much more... I have a k@k phone and camera so i cant really contribute... but my wife does have an S3 and i will post some that i took with that... Some i messed with the filters. Some were just normal. The last one is of a BAT skeleton! I found it in a river in the Berg about two weeks back. It was at the bottom in about half a foot of water. Was very interesting to see.
  7. Gary who?
  8. So.... gears are getting LESS.... but more expensive.....?? and we support this? This is like a can of coke going from 330ml to 275ml and triple the price but we all run out and buy it...?? WHY??? Just for the "cool" factor? To have the "bling" (or lack there of) to be better than our mates and everyone else...? and then we all wanna cry about prices- but we do it to ourselves..........if nobody bought these parts at these prices.... But bla bla bla... i'm wasting my breath... aren't I ??
  9. One for Sunday dinner..... one for Cold meat rolls during the week.... Rump cap IS the king of roasts!

  16. http://butcherachicken.blogspot.com/2007/09/step-6-remove-oil-gland.html
  17. Next time cut it in half before you cook it it. cut it off the chicken, turn it sideways so the "point" is facing left or right and cut then open and you will see the two round glands....
  18. No, it is not done at the abattoirs... you would have seen the cut in the leg if it has been done....
  19. Yeah, that was a fail on my part- not a Pit glad- cant remember it now... but its an Oil glad and give that pungent smell.
  20. just remember to ask them to do it!
  21. Guys please remember... if you are going to cook a whole leg of lamb, PLEASE cut out the pituitary glad... that thing is SIFF when cooked.... and seriously alters the meat flavor for the worse... its the glad that gives the Lamb/sheep that heavy smell and oils the skin... not great when it messes with the meat! on that note, for those of you who eat "the parsons nose" from a chicken, cut the two glads off there as well... those are the glads the chicken used to oil its feathers and are bitter as hell!! cut off before cooking!
  22. Braised Pig Cheeks- Two pig cheeks, trimmed properly! cut in half. Braise in HOT pan season with salt, black pepper and rosemary. In a oven dish put carrots, celery, and cover cheeks with stock... bake in oven for 2.5-3 hours. when done, take the cheeks out and thicken the sauce, if needed. Put cheeks back in dish and let stand for a few minutes. serve on Wild rice. Don't knock it till you try it! :)
  23. I'll take you a step further- (if you didn't know this already) Don't add the sugar- instead try weigh the sugar, well the amount you would have used- Get a Metal Sieve- and place that over the pot so the Liquid is NOT touching the bottom of the sieve. now place the same weight of sugar in the sieve- BUT using sugar blocks/lumps. Not granular sugar. Now pour STROH rum on the sugar and light it, this must be done fairly quickly so the rum does not run into the wine- then stand by with the rum and add the rum keeping the flame burning- teaspoon at a time... keep covering the sugar until it all melts... as the flame melts the sugar the alcohol evaporates and you are left with the rum taste and sugar dripping into your wine adding that touch of excellence.... if you make this over a camp fire... even better....
  24. So ive been blessed to able to be shopping for a new bike since selling my Anthem 29er X0. i loved the bike, only had issues with the lower BB position... but thats because i have no skill so i'm considering the Trance as it seems to have a higher BB. the only issue is that is the trance 29er is a bit contradicting.. in the way that its designed to be a bit more All Mountain than the anthem... but with the 29" wheels, it might be a bit more unstable as it has a higher center or gravity? i already felt higher on the 29" anthem than on my 26" anthem... and technical riding was slower.. so now will it be further reduced with a trance 29? Id like to hear from those that have/are ridding the trance 29". What did/do you think? how did/does it respond? http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/trance.x.29er.0/12771/59437/ OR http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/anthem.x.advanced.29er.1/12781/59375/
