  1. 4:55 but jeez it was cold at times. couldn't stop shivering after the race, cold showers at UCT didn't help, until I got into bed.
  2. shorts & club vest or running shirt. wear an old t-shirt to toss on route after the first couple km.

  10. Howick, being a town, might eclipse PMB.
  11. I lived in the middle east for a number of years (even got locked in a Saudi fast food outlet whilst the staff went off to prayer) and the parts I struggled to understand that after the "breaking of the fast" at sundown they would party until the early hours of the morning, get up and go to Mosque at dawn and then be too tired to work during the day. I did enjoy the 9-2 working day though.
  12. You will probably find that Castle (SAB) don't mind too much as it's one player and it tends to bring more publicity to their brand than if he actually just wore the logo. Their stance might change however if there were two/three or even four players who elected not to wear their branding. It appears that Amla is quite strong in his beliefs. If you watch the drinks breaks you will only ever see him kneeing/sitting when eating or drinking (another Muslim belief I believe).

  14. TdF Stage 2 Les Essarts team time trial – Chris Anker Sorensen |Full data - link below One file that’s well worth taking a look at is the stage 2 team time trial. Chris Anker Sorensen (67kg) averaged 372 watts (396 normalized power) for 25:15. Sorensen rode on the front eight times at an average of 454 watts per pull. He led the team for five minutes and was “recovering” in the team slipstream for 20 minutes. His average watts while resting measured 336 watts. If you were to turn this time trial into a race simulation workout you’d have to do eight, 30-60 second intervals at 120 percent of threshold, separated by 2-minute lower intensity efforts at 85 percent of threshold power. http://home.trainingpeaks.com/races/saxo-bank-sungard/2011-tour-de-france/stage-2-team-time-trial.aspx
  15. it seems the future is here. http://www.dcrainmak...etooth-low.html I believe Polar products require very little enhancement to support Low Energy Bluetooth and if you read the comments at the bottom he expects to see Polar as the first manufacturer to adopt this.
  16. The initial 20 min test consists of going hard for 20 min but it needs to be the whole way through, not 10/15 min of full throttle and then blowing.
  17. This will give you an idea on what level you are. 18. This was sent out from Giba in February. Important news from Giba :- Please get ready for a few changes in regards to park access. As we get our new signage up around the park, we will be tightening the reins in terms of park access over the next month. The new park access will run as follows: Annual Park Members: 24 hrs access Pre paid tickets (booklet): 24 hrs access All paying customers: strictly 7am-5pm We will also be tightening up our checkpoints on St Helleirs Rd and Gravity Dice as soon as all the signage is up and the new boom gate on St Helleirs is installed. As a result of people entering Giba without paying to the use of the park, Jason and his management team are being forced to implement the above policy. What it means for us trail runners is, we will need to have either an annual membership or, as a lot of you have already done, you will need to buy a book of tickets. Without a membership card or ticket, the guard on the gate / boom will not let you in before 7am. You don't want the hassle and embarrassment of being refused entry into Giba at 5.30am, so please start getting your tickets/ membership sorted out.
  19. heard a while ago that they delayed the release of the 910 due to having excessive stock of the 310.
  20. at least the products are not 'expired' , yes we once received expired product in a two oceans goodie bag.
  21. website is working in Chrome. The route used to go up the M7 and down the M19 but I see there is a bit on there abt removing the Umgeni/M19 intersection (probably due to the road works) and that there is a "stretch through the streets of Westville" and registration is at gateway - 30k north of the start/finish venue....why so far away ? 22. I think early bird entries were R270 for this year and we get a Reebok moisture management shirt, a goody bag & an expo. I guess economies of scale help (R18000 entrants) and loads of sponsors/partners who want to be associated with the race.
  23. Have a look at this then decide! http://twitpic.com/8mq8ds
