  4. hoping so...their website is 'under construction" so hopefully it's being updated with the new race schedules. maybe try pinging admin. he might have insider knowledge.
  5. It seems Peter Sagan is an ardent Amla fan.
  6. maybe BMC will/should now shift the focus to winning the maillot blanc?
  7. I believe that in Durban, De Vlieg is the man to see.
  8. Bicycle touring is not popular here but this could effective stop bicycle tourists considering RSA. If you want to stop it I suggest you contact the dept of tourism. they will have far more clout than a couple lone voices.
  9. Cyclelab Hillcrest has closed and it seems has merged with Maverick cycles as the name there is changing to , 4 ever cycles....if I can remember correctly. I guess something had to give with 6 bike shops within a 10km radius.
  10. dude, it does not look right. Nedbank proof of payments always reflect a transaction reference number. seems to be missing from this one. If you have the time and inclination tell him that you've had a change of heart and need his address and a copy of his ID as he will need his ID to receive it. Once you have these details tell him that if the money is not in the account you will be laying a charge of fraud against him......and tell him that you have changed your mind again and will wait for the funds to reflect.
  11. http://www.naturalmedicines.co.za/shop-online.html
  12. There is also a product called STREX-5M (Herbal Product) manufactured by BACFO (Basic Ayurvedic Concepts & Formulations) that is pretty good at reducing stress related BP. I keep them in my draw and when my staff drive me nutty I ....take a chill pill ! Not sure how this would impact you though if you're already on BP meds.
  13. remember that the heart is a muscle, not to disimilar to a calf or quad, so just like someone else who has larger quads they could easily have a larger heart. I believe if you have a smaller heart muscle it will pump at a higher rate (no of beats) than someone who has a larger one,
  14. it's after 3pm on a Friday......you can't seriously expect anyone to still be working
  15. From their website Telephone Number: Due to the nature of our business, we will only provide you with a telephone contact number after you have placed your order with us. Looks suspect to me.....what can be so secretive about their nature of business ? maybe try calling cape storm and see if they supply them.
  16. thanks chaps, looks like it's red rims. it's going to be a long process .....cash constrains but I'll get there. 1st job....paint frame!
  17. I was given this old 12spd steel framed bike on the weekend and was thinking of making it a siglespeed. Which do you prefer.......red tyres or red rims ? PS: the blue bits are meant to be polished steel.
  18. Did anyone ride? Was it worthwhile?
  19. have heard rumours that the trucking companies are planning a blockade of JHB freeways on the 25th in protest against the tolls. If they are...good for them! but is it truth or rumour ?
  20. It would probably be easier to stay in PMB as you can ride to the start in the am. I'm sure if asked the organisers could arrange transport back to PMB after the race. If they want to grow the race I would suggest something akin to the following: 1) Post race numbers to those who can't make registration or make arrangements with a cycle shop to enable numbers to be collected in JHB/CT/PTA/BLOEM. 2) Arrange transport back to PMB after the race. I can't believe that this is anymore difficult than arranging transport to PMB in the wee hours before the start. 3) Arrange transport to collect people from the airport on the sat (1 bus @ 12h00 & 1 @ 16H00). 4) Arrange transport to the airport after the race for 2 hours after prize giving.
  21. I think it's by invitation only although there is a wildcard option. Its €75 to enter. see http://www.uwctfinal.co.za/
  22. Why are so few of you top blokes riding the UCI World Age Group Amateur & masters race, presumably on the same course, in August this year ? I say this because I was offered an entry and I finished well....last in my age group.
  23. My old man (70yrs old) had 3 levels fused at once and is much better for it. All I can suggest is that you see a neuro surgeon who will work with an orthopedic. The Neuro will do the nerve work and the ortho the bone work.
