  1. Thats quite different to what was tested. Tested bike; XT Crank, front derailer, rear derailer Recon fork Alex rims with Shimano non-series hubs. It is possible they've shown an up-specced model in the range to you, with the same frame.
  2. It's accurate, look at the wheelset and component spec as well. XT level spec is only the crank and front/rear deraillers.
  3. Swear by this stuff, far prefer the original formula to the new crunch though. I mix the two for cereal in the AM
  4. It's still funny how most see this as a 'Lance' thing from both sides. Reading between the lines is that there's a larger issue at play and a lot of influential names affected, a shaky house of cards. LA is the proverbial smoking gun in all of this, if he's brought to book, by the same reasoning also a scape goat in many ways.
  5. Because they qualified for x number of spots. All countries that send athletes can only do so as per the number slots they qualify for in each of the sporting disciplines. A number of countries have had controversy with Olympic selection, with athletes who feel they've been overlooked. Theres plenty rumbling in NZ, accusing the Ozzies of grabbing their glory by publishing the NZ results mixed with Aus, as 'Australisia or something to that effect.
  6. Seems to be a very grey area, as much as it can be argued that his inclusion is difficult on the science presented, the same can be said in reverse of the argument. How much of the science on either side takes into consideration the medical issues of an amputee? Having had a family member and a colleague who are amputees, I can say first hand there are more factors to consider than pure science at the end of the day. Does he have an advantage? Hell I don't know, very likely so, at the same though I feel it may well be negligible. Either way, reading what other athletes say, they accept him being there, which is enough for me. As an aside, mentioned this on the images of him swapping numbers/bibs. Whichever side of the controversy one sits. No matter your discipline, the politics, the doping, the hype, the fame, none of that crap matters at the end of the day. This the simplest purest spirit of sport. To acknowledge and respect your fellow athletes for their commitment. This is the example the world should take from the games. Without a field of the best, where everyone gives it their all, there can be no gold, silver or bronze. Think about that.
  7. Would not want a skop from that oke! ....
  8. Theres also a 'Wolf Pack Hustle' on Thursday evenings now, Craighall Circle I think.
  9. I don't want my flagpole impeding access to the train tunnel though ....
  10. So what should they do? Keep quiet? Of they're covering themselves legally, but by doing so they're also informing people of the possible consequences.
  11. Aw bob, spoilsport .... jou knei ... To the OP, was just teasing, but this is your best bet still .. http://www.store-laf.org/lf-wb-1002-10.html?src=AW-S_GG_Store-Wristband_LIVESTRONG-Wristband_Livestrong%20wristbands&gclid=CMunxcDM0rECFSQhtAodJHsAUA
  12. Was thinking about riding with a flag pole on the bike, then I remembered last year's deluge. Snorkel it is then!
  13. Whose that foreign oke wearing a South African jacket?
  14. Quite a jol, but is it really a "CM" ride now? Marshalls, Levis etc ... Still fun to pitch up and ride though.
  15. That's the one. The Bicycle Company, they also do Osprey, Craft and some other brands.... http://www.thebicyclecompany.co.za/
  16. Mikes Bikes in Greensid, they actually bring in the Electra bikes and accessories.
  17. From a personal perspective: To be honest at the start of this whole 29r malarky I was more keen on experimenting with the 650b, but industry available was predominately 29r and as things progressed many of the brands were putting out well handling 29rs. Recently I was fortunate to be able to ride two same model bikes in the different wheel sizes. I gravitated more towards the 650b than the 29r. BUT, heres the rub, another rider preferred the 29r. The differentiating factor was our differences as riders though, not the bikes, the difference on the bikes just accommodated our our differing styles. If that makes sense. For me, I'm stand height (5.8+-) from more of a dirt background and so enjoy the responsiveness and technical stuff more. He's from a road background and taller than I am, so possibly feels more at home on the bigger wheel. Conversely there was also a German dude over 6ft. He preferred the 650b more, being from a BMX/DH background. Taking from this, and as has been mentioned already. There is no better wheel size, just what suits your style and height. We have better options to taylor a bike to ourselves, great for the more experienced riders, more confusing for the newbies sure, but just as beneficial. To answer your question directly though, my riding is technical but not 'extreme' and I enjoy longer endurance rides and XCO stuff .. I personally enjoy the 650b and feel it gives a good balanced ride and lends itself better to FS designs for general trail riding over all. Hope that's clear mate, typed it all in a rush
  18. On that he's correct, but by 2013 most of the major fork manufacturers will supply forks to accommodate 650b, it's a wheel size that's been around for 40 years or so. There's plenty support for 26inch, will be for more than the next 10 years. Anyhow, it's an ISO requirement for any manufacturer to have availability of certain parts over a given time period.
  19. To the OP, if that's what the bike shop dude said, he's more than marginally uninformed. Unless he was referring to a particular manufacturer/brand. 26 will always be there alongside 650b and 29. There is no better than, it's what suits you for the conditions you ride in and as a personal preference.
  20. Better check my bank accounts, any of you knobs start posting pictures of yourselves on pretty islands, I'll know who to come after .....
  21. Personally I think you're another bike shop/industry type stirring. Of course I have no proof, just my own suspicion. Feel free though to man up and stand by your convictions by using your real name and posting some facts. Basically though, I think you're just taking the piss and talking ****.
  22. Sensitive bit, listen to it. Sensitive .... now stop being so sensitive.
