  1. LOL, I hear you, I was by no means having that reaction because of him. It would of been the same with anyone else.
  2. It is new, but I doubt the charge on a new one. Anyway, it had 2 days to charge and now is on full test again. Will see.
  3. I had the impression that he thought he set a winning time!! I laughed when he did that and was like are you serious, the calibre of riders still to come are gonna kill your time!
  4. Well, it is a no name battery, which was gifted to me.
  5. Well, my 1kva system with a 105Ah battery only lasted an hour powering the wifi, a 42" tv and an android box. Kinda disappointed was hoping for more, but didnt expect much as well. Next test will be a laptop.
  6. I have one battery still going steady from the initial onset of loadshedding years ago. I only use this battery to power around 10 x 10w 12v Led spots. They are 5cmx5cm in overall size and its either 05. or 1amp. My house is brighter on these lights than what it is on 220v. So thats what I am heading on doing around the whole house. Moving the spots to outside and doing 12v rope lights all around the corniches throughout the house. We deciding between a gas fridge or just enough power for the fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. This is where invertor and batteries come in and then offcourse the solar panels.
  7. like what they are trying to implement with borehole water. I while back I read something somewhere about being taxed for use of solar. The son belongs to everyone, but some power hungry animals must always want some of cut of the pie.
  8. Isnt that if you grid tie only? My system that I am planning will have its own circuit, thus cutting out the eskom grid.
  9. Bakkie, Quad Bike or ATV?
  10. The one I have now is a modified sine looking to power 2 computers and the wifi router
  11. Yeah, my plan eventually is to have plenty solar panels, so that I can run off it during the day and batteries at night. I already have lights sorted. Biggest concern is the large appliances. Might even look into a gas powered fridge if things get really bad.
  12. Damn, I gonna miss today, I need to go to langebaan just to pick up something!!! aah well road trip
  13. Awesome, thanks. This is the info I was looking for. So I have a 1kva invertor since yesterday. I havent tested the capacity yet, but the plan is to run the wifi and 2 computers from this. I do eventually want to upgrade to a bigger system along with solar panels. Do you power you fridge, dishwasher and washing machine as well from you system?
  14. I reckon if Pogey didnt play cat and mouse on the lower slopes and just paced himself he might have just won. That climb killed lots of legs yesterday.
  15. I forgot about the easy to remove bit - no glue left behind. I always shied away from bikeshield. I was gifted one and have done my other bikes with it as well. I also like how the edges doesnt curl up like many local options. You also get it in matte or gloss as well as for your fork. It is super easy to fit, spray some water and float it into place and squeegee out the water. Honestly it is one of the easiest I have fitted to a bike. I have tried 2 local versions, AMS, invisiframe(bikeshield applies similarly) Some other honeycomb protection. Invisiframe and bikeshield are the only ones so far that has not let dirt into the edge. I have had to replace downtube protection on 2 bikes because of this.
  16. That Man is a beast!! The last climb gonna be interesting
  17. If you not going for invisiframe(international) then I recommend getting the full bikeshield kit. I believe most bike shops have. Give Stoke a shout, I got one from them once. Then your other option is all mountain shield.AMS a very hard almost plastic like honeycomb bike shield but not as complete like bikeshield. Bikeshield is a bit softer though, but still thick. I have tried some other local stuff. I wont buy them again. The 3 above is about the best available in terms of protection and how well the glue sticks and keeps it stuck to the frame.
  18. I have a broken frame hanging in my garage. I will never fix it nor will I ride it. Some carbon frame parts are repaired yes, but how are they repaired? I have an idea of how it should be done, doubt that many do this. Would you cycle with a repaired carbon handlebar? F1 replaces broken important structural parts. I dont see why insurance has to dictate to you about a repair. They should pay you out, and refuse to insure should you choose to repair.
  19. Mine has increased. I thought I would see a saving but I guess not. I also know that we should be using less. But I will wait a month or 2 to see how the bills ad up. I am also turning my geyser on manually once a day. So everyone showers and it gets switched off.
  20. So we are off 2 hours at a time roughly 3 times a day sometimes twice a day. Has anyone seen a cheaper electric bill or is it still the same?
  21. Cotic is a possibility. But I am very happy with the GG. I use the Ht during the week from the house to urban bash and sometimes up on the greenbelt. It is also used often at hoogies, incl the skills park and gspot, eden, mont maree. And on the odd occasion at Tokai. Hence not in a rush
  22. I am trying to find a steel dual on a budget to swop my steel HT parts onto!! Very rare option to find. Thank goodness its not an ocd thing at the moment as the GG ticks all the boxes!
  23. Heal Up Dude, take it easy and just continue with the physio's recommendations
  24. People underestimate how hard it is. Some even use being clipped in as a reason as to why they would be able to do a drop or a table. There is no talk of technique.
