  1. Had a looky... I last did the Kremetart in 2005... Going to be an interesting ride and fun outing
  2. 6500km's is nothing for a BB especially on a road bike. A creak is not likely to be due to a worn BB. More likely a case of refitting with proper lubrication of parts will solve it.
  3. 1) Perhaps have an online booking system that caters for individuals joining ride groups but making their own individual bookings & payments directly with you. 2) Good coffee or espresso machine!! All the best with the venture! Will come visit some time for a bit of a training camp of sorts.
  4. There's a mention of Gotty Hansens contract to build Peugeot bikes in this article : http://www.fullstopcom.com/media-room-mainmenu-18/features/1153-gotty-s-got-all-round-legend-status.html
  5. Compare wheelsets too. They play a big part in price, ride and weight.
  6. I still have a 2015 Sani2C XL Hoodie & XL puffer to swap for anything. PM me.
  7. 5 Favourite Elements: The incredible route.Farmer Glen's personal attention to detail - The guy is literally seen everywhere around the race villages.Impressive race villages.General good vibe among riders. 5 Worst Elements (having to really dig for some, but if I have to): Beggars on route (see suggestion below).Unable to change top sizing 3 months prior to race when substituting entry.Showers at McKenzie aren't quite on par with the facilities elsewhere.More trolleys needed to cart boxes to and from tents.Joliviet tent was kaput/broken/buggered and couldn’t zip close.Suggestions: It be written into MTB Rules 'Do not give sweets to locals on route'. A rider was nearly knocked off his bike in front of me by kids scrambling from both sides when he reached for his pocket to give them something, myself narrowly dodging the kids. I saw 2 other similar incidents. It's a danger to the kids and the riders plus such begging shouldn't be encouraged among such young kids.Last Finish seems to have a little anti-climax with people rummaging for boxes, food, collecting cars, bike wash. Not sure how to improve this other than centralizing things somehow and making a big-deal talking about the 1pm prize giving at next day’s finish the night before at Joliviet. A 5pm registration at Glencairn instead of 3pm which would be better for us Joy’burgers. Missed the race briefing, Subaru draw, clover stuff and burgers THANKS for a great MTB event! Thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience!

Have to agree on this one, perhaps something to be written into all MTB race rules. I too witnessed a mad scramble of kids from both sides nearly knocking the guy off the bike in front of me as he reached into his back pocket. Quite dangerous for the kids & riders, the kids not even realizing they blocking the path of the riders. It shouldn't be encouraged.
  10. Have 2015 mens size XL to swap for any mediums or large tops.
  11. I'll have a Mens size (XL) kit to swop for a Size (L). Will be doing the Race but otherwise stay in Jhb to make swop-out arrangements.
  12. I joined Team Vitality on the 7th February 2015. Like others have stated here, I too haven't received the ‘welcome pack’ containing the jersey.Still having difficulty with them obtaining my CSA License.R800 Garmin voucher is useless as its limited to the Edge 510 or the Edge 810 on the Garmin site only, both units being more than R800 cheaper elsewhere - I have a free R800 voucher for anyone that wants it.Still hoping to get a response to one of my weekly emails.Disappointed.
  13. 1. Music: Beaty & chunky (130BPM+). 2. Foreground rather than background volume but able to hear instructor.3. Variety: Interval up & down type earlier in week & longer later in week; Or mixed in a class.4. 45min is extremely long in a boring class, 90min too short in a vibrant class. Ideally 60min for regular spinning.5. Soppy music (Elton John has no place in a spinning studio). Hot & stuffy studios. Bikes that need attention / un-level saddles.

A truly unique and superb event! Loved it! The navigation-board concept really extends to the camaraderie vibe of the ride. Kudos to Brett & Lesley!!
  16. Am assuming SA import duties nail us on Garmins. UK prices on the Edge1000 Full Performance Bundle = R6800 or R8082 if you pay UK tax.
  17. Been enjoying every VIpa kilometer since March this year
  18. Hopefully there's no big rains before then, ie. thinking all those trail building efforts through 'storm-water drains' could be destroyed by um storm-water Really liking all the efforts being put into this.

  20. Get some alcohol swobs from a pharmacy and run them over the discs to clean them of any grease or grime - Always handy to keep in your toolbox.
  21. As per Bikerumor.com, both Trek and Scott have issued safety recalls on a number of mid priced bicycles sold between 2011-2013 with SR Suntour Suspension Forks. According to the notice, the fork dropouts can break. All told, Scott is recalling 5,200 bikes, while Trek is recalling 120,000. Customers are being asked to immediately stop using their bikes and to bring them to a dealer for inspection and repair. On some Trek bicycles, a replacement quick release can resolve the issue, but the manufacturer is replacing many models affected by the recall with RST Vita forks. Thus far, Trek has received 28 reports of broken forks and five injuries. For more information, visit the CPSC webpage. Scott is also recalling four different road bike models due to possible steer tube breaks. The recall affects 2,000 of the 2014 Speedster 30 and 40 bikes, and Contessa Speedster 25 and 35 models. You can use this guide on their safety notice to determine if your model is affected, or bring it to the dealer. Scott will replace at risk forks with a new model, free of charge. More info here at the CPSC. ... Not sure how this effects locally bought gear.
  22. I have a Tacx FLOW for sale, should anyone be looking for one... PM me.
  23. In March I considered (among other brands) the Scott Spark 910, the Spez Epic and the VIPA... Settled for the VIPA and have been really happy with it. Thing with Spez is their costly maintenance and short intervals of the 'brain', especially if you're in Jhb and have to send it to CT every time.
  24. At Evans : Garmin Edge 1000 Performance Bundle = R 7483.21 (Free international delivery, might need to pay customs) Included in Box: Edge 1000 Unit, Preloaded Garmin Cycle map of Europe, Quarter turn mount, Out-front mount, Speed sensor, Cadence sensor, Premium heart rate monitor, Tether, USB cable, Quick Start manual http://www.evanscycles.com/products/garmin/edge-1000-performance-bundle-ec062928 Seems far cheaper than the 810 locally.
  25. Enjoying every ride on my VIPA. Considered the Spez but was put off by the hassle & cost of servicing that 'brain'. Also considered a Scott 910 - VIPA easily best value for money.
