  1. Agree medals are for winners and seeing as I consider myself a winner in every race I enter I will keep my medals thanks!!
  2. With logic like this why not just leave your gloves and "helmut" @ home as well??
  3. Had the same problem with my saddle bag and the spare tube.Put tube in a old sock, the problem is the tube rubbing against the saddle bag or in your case against the seat??
  4. Piece of old bicycle tube between the fork body and your chip, two cable ties and you are sorted.MTN Tulbagh the mats picked me up so it works and the chip should be safe.
  5. Friggin awesome when someone has the guts to stand up and say sorry and to have their problems sorted.Agreed that in a perfect world the problem should never have been there but well then life would be boring. Big up to you MTB Roadie for your apology her on the Hub,takes a real man to say sorry
  6. Ask around at yout LBS ,if they deal with O-bike sometimes they have older model bikes that they break up for spares and you can get a decent air shock(maybe not the latest model)for a decent price.
  7. Firstly let me state that I do not buy from CWC as I have my own cycling shop which I am happy to deal with. It amazes me that all you perfect people want to bitch on this site when Chris has given out his personal details so if you REALLY do have a problem give him a call. If you are then not sorted out please feel free to return and complain with a valid reason. Suffer in silence if you do not have the guts to approach the owners when he has given you the opertunity!!
  8. Mobii Mobii Mobii Just got mine and am blown away,if you need to record you speed, average speed, cadence, heart rate, elevation, distance, etc. Actually if this device does not do it well then it cannot be done, seriously!! Please guys and girls if you are in the Cape Town area and need a GPS enabled device give james a call(0824238735)it will be the best tool you ever buy.You can swim with it,cycle with it,race cars with it,run with it and so much more.It tracks and records anything from swimming strokes to the angle of your bike threw a corner and all this for a price of R3500.00?? If a Polar or garmin unit was a bi-plane well then the Mobii is the space shuttle(not the one that exploded)!!
  9. Only one word for all of you "MOBII" Google them, proudly SA and will anything and more that a Garmin or Polar can do and that for about R3500.00 Have a problem, just phone in and they will sort it,the guys are even willing to tailor any application to your requirements.
  10. Rumours are ugly things and there are many doing the rounds....what have I heard. FACTS The club gave R106525.00 to be devided amongst all the land owners involved to have the right to ride their land. (this money does not go far in the conservation of the Renosterveld that we have the honour to ride through) The Executive committee employed someone to manage the trail @ R25000.00 per month, lets call him Bob(did I mention that Bob is also on the Executive comittee??) The club had a Revenue of R823334.00 but only had R4733.00 of that at the end of the year. RUMOURS The person earning the R25000.00 was also the treasurer so did the salary payment and forgot to deduct PAYE so now between said person and the club they owe SARS R75000.00 When other committee members checked the books Bob became very defensive and starts having secret meetings with the land owners and now the green corridor is closed. No doubt the corridor will soon open again as Bob has apparently come to a arrangement with the farmers and will be doing the maintanence of the trail with a private company run by himself. So that is what I know and have heard, anyone smell a rat?? I firmly believe that the best thing to come out of all this poop is that the land owners will now manage their own trail and will get more money from the club to better conserve the Renosterveld. They should get at least 50% of the clubs income for the luxury of us using their land. My big problem is that as far as I can see while in the employement of the club Bob was mearly lining his own pocket and not acting in the best interests of the club.
  11. Make wetsuits legal at all races but let the competitor decide on wearing or not wearing it.Those who want to can and those who do not wear theirs have a advantage at some point as a wetsuit is a bitch to get off??
  12. Just a thought so please no flaming, maybe a bit of clingwrap around the bars, shifters, stem and the bb.At 100km/hour water may get in were you do not want it.Lube everything well when you get to the other side??
  13. About a week ago I was entering some numbers on my PC when the number keys stopped working ,that was until I found out I had my hand on my calculator!!
  14. Just hope a beating was included in the bike recovery.
  15. Personally I think you should buy a new bike and then donate your Giants rims and front shock to me??
  16. Well it cost a lot less then your bike and touch wood no breakages is a year??
  17. F*&k Jurgen stop reving the people up.Your bike shop does not even sell Giant!! We all know you ride a Makro special with trainer wheels ??
  18. That red gear lever still makes my "nuts" hurt and it has been 30 years !!
  19. Seeing as you are neer Hillcrest try the red route on Hillcrest across and down through Kliprug, right at the dam and through Contermans and up the hill to the fence, turn right at the top and you will find a lovely hill waiting for you, once at the top go back down on the single track and climb back out of Kliprug back to Hillcrest.Stunning route with plenty of climbing and fun singletrack downhills and switchbacks. If this route does not help then there is a serious problem.
  20. Aluminium should bend before snapping, carbon is just going to snap leaving your ass to be raped by a very sharp piece of carbon fibre but well the choice is yours??
  21. Had the same problem on my bike.Removed seatpost applied some grease,re installed seatpost-problem sorted.
  22. And if Cycle lab had offered to pay to use the photo as advertising would it have been fine?? Nuff said!!
  23. Get a spline socket fractionally larger then the stripped hole .Hammer it into the stripped allen key opening, support the other side of the crank arm on something solid(wood or rubber mat). The impact of the hammering should help loosen up the seized threads and once the spline is hammered in you can turn the stripped allen key bolt out.Use a light hammer not a 4LB!!!
  24. I hate the "dirt roadies" they never stop to take in the view,**** hang on they hate me for getting in the way.I am also so much better at climbing a hill compared to a DH rebel but the little rubbish DH racer can whip my ass on the DH track!! WHO CARES about all this crap, why can we not all just get along and enjoy our bikes,we all have strengths and above all we all want to enjoy our bikes.Grow up CHILDREN and lets all just enjoy ourselves??
  25. Fox flux, comfortable and great protection.
