  4. I have found this on the AM Classic site http://www.amclassic.com/documents/manuals/mtb_disc130_15mm_thruaxle_retrofit.pdf Still it doesn't make sense to me
  5. but if there's space between the hex nut & round end cap then the hex nut will looen over time, won't it? Should I try to find a washer to take up the space btween the hex & end cap/nut?
  6. Hello tech hubbers, I've recently bought an AM Classic wheelset with the 15mm thru axle converter, but when the converter is installed I have the following problems: 1. The converter only has 1 hex nut to tighten 2. When the converter hex nut is installed (on the wheel) & hand tightened & the round "lock nut" is installed & turned all the way in there's a gap between the hex nut & the 'lock nut'. See pic for detail (this is the same scenario / distance as when installed, but obviously easier to see when not installed) Thanx in advance
  7. The higher end cold steels are pretty damn tough! Even the lower end knives are pretty tough as well. Watch some of the videos on their site!

  13. Has anyone used these? Are they any good? Looking at a 25mm offset.
  14. I got a reply from Simon from crc concerning the wheel conversion: " Hi Jacques, Thank you for your email. You would be able to run these wheels in your frame if you purchase the following Conversion kit. Nukeproof Kit QR Rear (Stock ID 117674) http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=34779 This conversion axle simply slides inside the 12mm fitted to the Easton's and holds the wheel in place with a standard QR skewer. I hope this information is helpful for you. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions. Thanks, Simon " Hope this will shed some light, but I'm a bit sceptic whether it'll work for sure...
  15. I went for a medium. Most guys of my length (1.78) is riding mediums & they say it fits them well. However if you will be running a very short stem like a 60mm you might rather consider a large. My frame has arrived, but I'm still awaiting merlincycles to get stock of the fork I'm looking for, so I will only be able to tell you how my beast will behave when built up... That might only be within the next 3 weeks
  16. Will add mine as soon as I get it built up. Have to wait for merlin to get the revs in stock though
  17. Cool will give him a PM!
  18. Looks VERY EINA!!! Heal up soon & back on the saddle
  19. I saw that the ea70 are like R2300 on crc, but the rear is 142 x 12 & the guys at omnico doesn't know whether they could be converted to 135 x 9mmQR. Anyone here know? or know where to look for the 'axle conversion'? If it can be then I'll order the ea70 as well as a srt of havens as I've got 2 bikes & it can never hurt having 2 x such nice wheelsets
  20. What can you get eastons for? EA90 EA70 as well? J
  21. Price & how many day(s)?
  22. I'm looking for a good seatpost with 25mm setback for my Sova build. Anyone know of a good (not breaking the bank) seatposts I can check out for ? Thanx J
  23. Now there's the proof I've been looking for... it can handle it all
  24. MoreWood surely has 'the looks' of downhill inspired, but there are some guys on xc races with GT 140/150mm travel bikes as well as some Giant reigns. I know I'll be the lone Shova guy pitching up at some races
  25. Surely the free state is mainly flat, but eastern free state is not that flat. I love hikes in natal / drakensberg, so while I'm on my way there I'll take a detour & go karkloof & howick
