I think your only option is a trailer top rack, there are various makes available from about R1200 upwards.

I reckon lap times should be in the region of 40-45min. We did 45min on our second lap, pushing fairly hard but not race pace. Looking forward to the weekend.

Must be one of the few Tea Totallers, the rest would all have had hangovers.

We rode out towards Roodepoort from Bryanston and although not as many as recent weekends there were still quite a few out on the road.

Here is a close up of the section we missed, doesn't look too bad. We should have followed the track with the trees.

Sorry Sean, should have confirmed with you, we had the TCS party yesterday so didn't see the above post either (by the way if you had pm'd me I would have received an email but never mind). We did go but later than I said originally. Here is the profile from the circle in the Hyperama car park to the top of Panorama and down the other side. The steep section up to the first Panorama hilltop after the right turn (1731m) averages 10% with some sections up to 15-16%.

No I know the route and have ridden it a few times but not up Panorama. Just thought it would be a nice ride for Sunday and if anyone wants to join then please do.

Hi linnega, do you think that could break a chain? As you said though more info about how it breaks would help.

I doubt that your chainrings or cassette could cause it. I have done many thousands of km's on 105/Ultegra/DuraAce Shimano chains with no problems. Where are they breaking is it at the link pin? If so check your joining to make sure the pin protrudes properly the same amount on either side. Alternatively use a quicklink to join the chain which also allows you to remove it easier for cleaning etc.
