  1. I'm out
  2. I have had a high carb week last week due to being away/living with family. The scale shows it. But I'm back in routine and since monday I've cut out coffee and milk. I was taking about 6 - 8 cups of coffee a day previously. Now I have Rooibos instead. Once my weight reaches what it was before the high carb week, I'll continue without coffee and milk and see if I can break through the plateau I was on. I have also decided to split my lunch into two meals. Still having the same amount of food, but splitting it in half and having each at least 2 hours apart. Lets see what happens
  3. I found this interesting. Someone mentioned it elsewhere on the Hub if I remember correctly. From http://www.mensjourn...-trick-20130801
  4. I feel this is appropriate http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/28600611.jpg
  5. So are we going to see some ZTR Crest rims in the classifieds soon?
  6. Carbo loading is only useful if your glycogen stores are depleted from exercise. FOR most of us weekend warriors, our glycogen stores aren't depleted before a race because we didn't train the day or 2 before a race AND most people's normal diets contain enough carbs.
  7. 4+ hours on the bike aren't suppose to be at'race pace' if race pace = anaerobic pace
  8. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I took 3 BG readings in one minute and the first result was 13, then 6.2 and then 5.7. Does this mean the blood glucose meter isn't very accurate at all?
  9. bikes optional
  10. From http://www.lowcarb.ca/tips/tips008.html
  11. So I managed to get myself a BG meter. This morning my fasting BG level is 4.4. From what I understand that is pretty normal? Now I'm looking forward to testing how my meals affect my BG
  12. I'm really contemplating getting a blood glucose meter. Can thy be found at Dischem?
  13. How's this, Corsa bakkie with 80.000km and "hardly used". https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/57709-2006-opel-corsa-utility-14-immaculate/
  14. That's what I feel mountain biking is about, exploring and sometimes just being alone for KMs on end
  15. I don't get your hostility, and why you feel like you have to look after Hairy. I always enjoy your posts but you are a overreacting a bit here. In the post I edited, I just added a sentence and didn't remove anything. I said that I'm not ATTACKING Hairy but just stating that he should've mentioned his problem and not just state that he is unhappy. It's good that we can use the Hub to rant and to rave. I just feel that we need to be fair and fully explain WHY we are unhappy. So yeah, bash Cwc if you had a bad experience, they are not immune to unhappy clients. But be fair about it
  16. This:
  17. However, the way the complaint is written without mentioning the problem is somewhat tasteless. Not attacking Hairy, just saying that he should write a proper post explaining the problem
  18. It's a bit unfair to name and shame without explaining the situation
  19. I think the next epic fail ad will receive the following badge: http://i.imgur.com/EwG3Kep.jpg
  20. How is the wear on the Geax Saguaro as compared to something like the Maxxi Crossmarks?
  21. Welcome to the Hub. It's all about your fitness. If you think having a road bike and participating in road races will increase your fitness, get one. And you can buy a cheapish second hand one. If you are looking to get a 29er anyways, you can instead go that route. A 29er with slicks can also be fun at the Argus. Lastly, if all you want to spend is a set of slicks, fit those to your current bike.
  22. The most difficult part of LCHF is to eat with other people. We're staying with family for the week, and all meals are carb loaded. Difficult to not be a nuisance
  23. Why you no specify budget?
  24. Why don't they tranquilise those bad boys?
