  1. anyone have a map ? Only ever really rode from Tokai parking lot.
  2. Fabiani brings them in and they're in all stores. I think Stuttafords stocks both mens and ladies.
  3. cool. She just needs to upgrade the Porsche. haha
  4. Spot on. The dropper makes all the difference. I have the Giant 2015 one, but my wife who has the exact bike - I just put on a 2016 dropper with 150mm of drop and the improved seat mount. It's much better than mine. Most jealous now. But point is: she says it's the best thing we've ever added to one of her bikes.
  5. My current Giant.
  6. I sold it to an Enduro rider from Camps Bay (cannot remember his name, was Mark Hopkin's buddy). Bike was best with a pair of Marzocchi Shiver's on it. Will try get pics up soon - they're all on slide film, so will just need to scan.
  7. That's my old bike. And yes, it's a 1999. Still sourced that shock off a Cannondale DH bike and had the bushings made to fit. Came with a Manitou 5" double crown, Raceface cranks and Formula disc brakes. Mavic D321 wheelset etc. Raced it as I got it - was still on display at the Giant Argus expo stand, and the next week we had the first National in Citrusdal. Was a super bike. Had the DH Team after that too... complete with leaky maroon red Boxxer and horrible (put me off SRAM for life) white composite Gripshift stuff. Will dig up bike pics when home in Dec.
  8. how far is it from Knysna town? I'm staying at the Waterfront, and would like to be on the trails by 09h00.... Saturday next week. Not sure of route / driving time etc.
  9. Damn, am there the week before.
  10. Thread necrophilia. Friend is looking for a particular bike and someone said it may be here. Bike theft is at an all time high, whatever happened to this store? I once popped in to find singlespeed parts and was shouted at, so left...
  11. I know the female body has a different leg length : upper body ratio to guys, but surely one can get better value (lighter, better frame + components) for similar money in a men's bike?
  12. Such envy look at this thread. Mine's taken me nowhere today (or this week) due to me being stuck at the ANC conference in Midrand. And just listening to that is pretty depressing. But on Tuesday when back - going to hit Jonkershoek. I hear there are new trails?
  13. All carbon Advanced Models for 2015 (not sure of 2016) had aluminium rear triangles.
  14. Hmmm, in Knysna for a meeting next week Monday. Perhaps should pack a bike!
  15. sounds quite good. now to find Bibi! Because as you can see in the pic - a silver square on an all black bike looks ****!
  16. Sorry to be a thread necrophiliac, but where can one "just buy" cover plates / blanking plates? Just went 1x10 on my Trance, and would love to cover the silver "square" that is now quite visible as everything on my bike is black...
  17. Dig the Pygas. Have the 2015 Trance 2 (only standard bits left is the frame + fork). And damn, that Cube is ugleeeeeeee.
  18. Have one that I'm pretty much half way through changing the build of. Am most impressed.
  19. Agreed! Remember when it was R2.50 to ride at Tokai. haha.
  20. The red route looks like the original Urban Assault held over a decade ago. Pity I'm in JHB, would loved to have come and watched this year.
  21. You'll need to amass as many national points as you can in your Junior or Elite age group. Unless you've kicked some butt in various World Cups, which would mean you're okay for representing SA as you have the points. But then up to selectors from what I remember.
  22. Nope. Was vastly different! Original one actually ended in Porter School for two seasons. Had some fantastic stuff at the top, one being a massive "parachute drop" as it was called. Then into some slow tech rocky stuff, out onto the jeep track and long pedal down into switchbacks. Eventually this top section was cut out and a new section formed. I should dig out all the old pics. Will just have to scan the slides.
  23. F*ck them. CPA protects you against this. Tell them to get fecked. If you paid by Credit Card reject the transaction. The chargeback alone will cost them more than the pic. HATE to hear stuff like this. SA'ns get screwed way too much.
