  1. With you there. Although a pimped PRINCE would be nice
  2. Nice, like the Bianchi as well. Good luck
  3. Remember once seeing an ad in a Brit magazine: "Why is it easier for people to lose 5 pounds out of their wallets than 5 pounds around their waists?"
  4. Titus Are there plans for a group coming from Tableview? Maybe to meet in town.
  5. Dates are also something to look at. They dont leave you with that syrupy sweet aftertaste that most gels do and are also very easy to carry.
  6. Not to hijack, but have you ever thrown one of these things in a fire? Trust me, if you like blowing things up, this will cure you very quickly.
  7. Just make sure you dont have your license number on your bike or on your jersey
  8. Let my subscription lapse more than a year ago when, they deducted from my credit card but "Werent able to find ever having received your renewal." Ride is the mag to go for, not one hassle in more than a year.

    OUCH

They even advertise it for weight weenies
  10. Reminds me of a freind who did the same thing to his Corolla. But he literally painted his one with a paint brush.
  11. Campagnola
  12. Long Screws? 2 inches' date=' wow that will cause problems. [/quote'] I broke both my femurs in a motorbike accident. Had about 2kg's of metal in my legs at one stage. Had to find very long titanium screws, but it works.
  13. Best suggestion is to put a spacer between the cleat and the shoe. My right leg is about 2 inches shorter than my left. Also had major back problems until I got the spacer in, works like a bomb no problems since. Make sure also that the position of your cleat is set-up correctly becuase that can also add to your discomfort.
  14. Yes, they all put on blonde wigs
  15. Did you also win the US$95 000.00 Land Rover "fully" equipped for off land riding. All I had to do was "call a connection in Kenya and transfer US$3 000.00 to his account for carrier costings" Still trying to figure out what "off land riding" is.
  16. Excellent Thanks, where do you guys get these strips.
  17. Thanks, Johan and Mampara. Will give it a shot tonight.
  18. I have changed the drive system on my bike. When in bottom gear the chain scrapes on the bottom of the rear derauler so I will obviously have to shorten it. How do I calculate how many links to remove?
  19. In winter I wear leggings and have sewn a reflective patch on the left calf, which all the motorists that see me say they notice even before the flashing light. Also put your clothes in a plastic bag inside your backpak, if you ride daily, because what might start out a dry ride could be caught in the rain. Agree with the, "leave at the same time every day" suggestion because you will be surprised at how many people get used to seeing you at the same spot every day. Also if possible interact with the drivers you see along the way, the more people that know you the better.
  20. I commute most days, a good 20k's from Tableview to Cape Town. Best rear light, I think, is the Blackburn. Even during the day its great. Remember reading in a Brit mag, "If you ride at night, think like a Christmas tree."
  21. Agree with GT Oke. Knysna MTB is good, riding through those forests was amazing. Stuck down here in the Western Cape, Jock, Kremetart, Panorama and the others are a bit far to travel.
  22. Not to hijack. Willehond, it seems the numbers are declining at Head Office. It's only me and sometimes Steve who still use, shall we call them "the hooks". Agree about the showers though, to many people don't ride because they cannot shower at the office even if PPA still has the first Wednesday of the month as acommute. Hijack off, sorry
  23. ST, what area in Cape Town do you stay? We have had quite a few break ins in the Table View area.
  24. What about him winning both long Knysna rides this year. He won the road event going away.
  25. Interesting question. Look forward to some replies. I cracked my chainstay and have been told that it is near impossible to replace/repair. Has to do with the curing they do when building the frame and the tolerances that aluminium has.
