  1. Garage's usually have very good CCTV systems with multiple cameras. Maybe you should have a look, actually now that I think of it there's probably not much you'll be able to do about it. Sorry to hear about this anyway.
  2. As far as I'm concerned you're doing the right thing by posting this sighting on the hub, if it was stolen then the owner has someone to contact, namely you, for more information. Thanks for taking the time.
  3. Have you tried using a Powerbalance band?
  4. Petshaman I ride from Weltevredenpark to the Cradle and will keep a look out for you. Saved your number. Nothing would make me happier than corning this peice of s... scum.
  5. Ha Ha Ha Please DON'T post any pics of a Dirty Sanchez...EVER!
  6. Okay I give up... What's a Dirty Sanchez...?
  7. That's just horrible, please don't post any more pictures!
  8. I was doing a similar comparison over the weekend. Cheap R3K Shimano XT 1650g vs mid price R5K AC 1480g vs premium priced R8K Mavic Slr's 1420g. Very intresting about the V brake SLR weight being quoted. Tarmac forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by "I have stock", do you sell American Classics?
  9. Fair point and I've just finished Superfreakonomics and Eat Smart for Sport (both quite good by the way) but on a flight with constant distractions I enjoy reading something a little "lighter" if you know what I mean. By the way has anyone else noticed how many "weight challenged" i.e. FAT people there are on flights nowadays...and don't think the food trolley sneak past them without them topping up on a 1000 Kcals of chips, jelly tots, kit kats and of course the diet Coke...unbelieveable!
  10. I've been buying Bicycling and Ride for 5 odd years now, lately Tread and Go Multi, and now that the price has come down SA Triathlon and must say that Bicycling stylistically looks the best but really has become a weak imitation of what it used to be. Problem is I love cycling and fly a few times a month and need some stimulation on those otherwise mind numbingly boring 2 hour flights...lately once I've bought all of the above mags I end up buying Car, Popular Mechanics, Bike SA, You, People etc....I was desperate when I bought the last 2 okay! LOL
  11. Interesting... This is what I was asking for above when I questioned whether the OP would change his riding style/habits....
  12. Very happy to hear you're OK... Thinking back on the incident now, is there anything you'll do differently in future to reduce the risk of this happening again? What lesson have you learnt and what advice can you give?
  13. Frame to carbon, pref Specialized. Good price to performance ratio IMHO. Let us know when you've upgraded.
  14. If you don't mind answering please...what time does Teak open, how much does it cost, do the have a coffee shop, does said coffee shop have strong coffee available at opening time? Switching back to my first love after 94.7...
  15. Value for money, ride quality and of course bling factor, Specialized Tarmac Pro SL(or SL3 if you can get one) is unbeatable...IMHO. Friday 22 July 2011 - Alpe-d'Huez - I've already applied for half days leave...LOL
  16. + 1 These guys are on the ball. My RS200 went in for a battery replacement and they replaced the casing too...no charge! Because of that I went out and bought a Polar FT 60 as my "other/work" watch. Keep up the good work guys!
  17. Eyes peeled on the West Rand of Gauteng. If spotted vengence will be metered out and the bike liberated...
  18. I have the same frame and absolutely love it..why do you want to sell? Don't like the ride? By the way I paid just over R18K new 3 months ago.
  19. I hate to admit it but I've also done that...the endo that is...not the bumrush....lol
  20. Does anyone who the cyclist was, what club he belonged to, where he stayed? I'd like to send condolences to his family.
  21. Also cycled past the accident ay about 10am. A terrible sight. Spent the rest of the day questioning my reasons for road riding, the route I use out to the cradle, how it happened, why it happened etc etc etc. Also spent the day thinking about just how short life is and how much I love my wife and 1 year old daughter. R.I.P. fellow cyclist and my sincere condolences to his family.
  22. Garmin Edge 705 The training centre software with map overlay that is included is amazing for scouting routes and analyzing all the technical data both during the ride but especially after when you get home on your PC. I'm a believer...
