  1. I just haven’t sold anything in a while..
  2. Willing buyer, willing seller… There is sometimes “really bad” bikes for purchase on Bikehub (and Marketplace) at very “ambitious” prices. It really looks like some sellers just throw together random parts (sometimes even a frame they had fixed) and push their luck. I doubt they would offer any guarantee on these bikes and it’s a pity unsuspecting buyers can’t be warned. At least Bikehud doesn’t have “Is this available?”.
  3. I also have a previousl generation Top Fuel and mine came with a 130mm Pike. Very happy with the bike and if I had to nitpick an extra waterbottle cage could be nice… Really great all rounder for the trails I like to ride.
  4. Really glad I bought the Top Fuel with a 130mm Pike and not a 120mm Sid as standard. I’m far (almost two times 😬) from a 60kg racing snake…
  5. I wonder if that price gets you a mechanic that flies in to fix punctures with a barista to make coffee while you wait? I wonder how many people will sign up for this “gracious” offer? I really hope some sanity prevails…
  6. Jeepers! Lourensford has some nice trails but this ridiculous. Luckily I don't think I'll ride there enough to not qualify as a guest. .
  7. Or a gravel bike with some MTB (2.1) tires... But it think it mostly depends on the current condition of the roads.
  8. Haven't done K2C in years and wasn't fit enough but I enjoyed/suffered through it and I was really happy to have suspension on the downhills. Took it real easy, stopped often and even helped out with a few mechanicals. We were very lucky with the weather. I rode quite far back so there was alot of e-bikes passing us, wonder if some of them ran out of battery? As always a nice race, I'll (hopefully a fitter and leaner version) be back!
  9. I know it's a Friday so here we go... Terms like "Bargain", "Deal", "Massive Discount", etc. etc. is very objective and I don't think they add value in adverts. The reason you are discounting your very expensive old bike is the fact that it is not selling for the price you think it is worth, you are not selling it for a discount. Rant over, have a great weekend.
  10. Yes, 130F/120R would be amazing. The Epic 8 Evo is specced like that.
  11. Nice bike and good to see big companies still trying to deliver better "cheaper" bikes. I wonder if they will do a Chisel Evo?
  12. My 2007 Kona Explosif. Just a really nice bike that rode amazing. It snapped on the top tube one day and I had it fixed with a "patch" while I had to wait for a replacement frame. That frame eventually outlived the replacement frame and broke on the chainstay many years later. So much fond memories on that bike. Those wheels do look so small today...

    Event question

I did Lindani very long ago and it was great!
  14. The Marin Wolf Ridge is another serious contender.
  15. As a >100kg cyclist myself I wish/hope I'm running at a deficit to become a <100kg cyclist... This is obviously not working for me
  16. @Pandatron, you have some reprimanding to do...
  17. Frustrating and seems to be a more common occurrence/higher risk when buying online... I bought sunglasses that arrived broken and another item had parts missing, I was refunded both times but still a major waste of time. Takealot won't accept returns immediately at their pickup points so you have to log a return and go back at a later stage. Hope you the issue sorted, "die wiel draai'... Part of me wishes you can charge for the time/effort spent on issues like this (and answering telemarketing calls).
  18. Use Bikehub pay... The small amount of commission is worth it.
  19. Items arrived and delivered to my work by a courier. Using them in the back of a bakkie, my previous mounts was higher from the baseplate than these and they have more axle adaptors. Quite a bit cheaper than Holdfast and if it can work for you it might be an option.
  20. I bought some of these brackets off Temu, way cheaper than Holdfast and decent quality. https://share.temu.com/HAeFwInTRFA
  21. I also recently got a 50% offer from WeBuyCycles and just politely declined their offer... Maybe Ivan onto something and hoping/wishing he gets a 50% offer on his Vipa and Top Fuel.
  22. Correction... Man hours paid for by volunteers... First Time Volunteers pays R 3800 for their time and Return Volunteers pays R 1000 but they get the following: Tented accommodation in the Absa Cape Epic rider village Breakfast and dinner in the race village with the riders Daily Woolworths lunch pack (except Prologue and Grand Finale) Volunteer T-shirt Complimentary Grand Finale Picnic Lunch Voucher Transport between stages (if required) Ticket to the Around the World Party (Friday before Rider Registration) Reserved entry for the following year's race
  23. Very true, those R295k bikes aren't really aimed at "average Joe's" and no one is forcing you to buy them. We all like nice stuff (I hope), even the more affordable bikes are damn good these days and the fact that there exits expensive bikes out there doesn't detract from your I do doubt that these type of debates is happening is PrivateYacht Hub, SuperCar Hub or PrivateJet Hub but I won't be joining those anytime soon.
  24. New Evo looks amazing and very similar to the Top Fuel I bought last year with a 130mm fork at a "reasonable" price. Nice to see bike companies put in solid Engineering in newer bikes and how each generation gets better.
