  1. Looks to me like the Rabobank boys used the prototype version that became the Black Panther Xtrac. I'm personally looking forward to the xtrac release due in two weeks. http://www.crank.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/DSC00165.jpg http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_upload_ca/news/2010/CapeEpic_Finish.jpg http://www.hargrovescycles.co.uk/images/product_images/big/vredestein-black-panther-xtrac-tyre.jpg
  2. I tested and reviewed the Spotted cat by Vredestein (on my blog link below) and just fitted a Black Panther 29x 2.20 yesterday. I rode it this morning with good initial feeling. I still need to get the pressures set up right, it can go lower than my Fastraks I normally run. What ground conditions will you be using it in? The Extreme version is a good mud/wet loam condition tire. The standard version is better in the dry and at the end of the Month the Xtrac version will be the best of both at 620g The Extreme is 680g so its quite weighty. Std is around 620g

  7. Nice work Marc...lookin Boss
  8. Bianchi? One of the oldest and still best brands available...
  9. ASG are the Fulcrum Agents, J&J are still Campag agents. JJ would only have quoted a full wheel if no rim was available, so they upsold to get you moving if that was an option. They can get rims alone but it takes a week or two.
  10. What level do you ride at? PPA seeding if any?

  12. Thx for the help
  13. The bike was chained to a White bakkie, thats the Owners car, the thieves had a burgundy double cab.
  14. Do you hang your bike overnight? the lever works in reverse logic, if it's not depressing any fluid then it will remain locked. I hang mine but don't have this issue, but could foresee that if there are air bubbles in the system they may creep into the lever overnight. Have you tried bleeding it, probably best to do it in the morning when you have the issue present.
  15. Cape "Tyre Shredder" Pioneer... i hope they beefed up the sidewalls.
  16. Hard on the up's and cautious on the downs, make sure you don't crash, Flat box is fine. 95% is better.
  17. Oh and for the record I don't own a springbok jersey, or stormers jersey or WP jersey for that matter.
  18. Nobody wearing an Epic Kit is supporting anyone. Its a show of achievement, like national stripes. I see your point but merchandising for a team sport is a different thing. I still feel the players should receive a unique version. What if I bought a Green Jacket to support Tyger Woods and started wearing it to the Golf course...?
  19. If I saw some fat slob in some amabubesi kit that I knew wouldn't make the 1st month of training let alone a stage but managed to browse the catalog while passing through the Craft Stall on his way to the St Elmo's Sliceaway I would kick him down the mountain then ride down and kick him back up

  21. I have the same rant - the Amabubesi Kit i earned first before buying was SOLD OUT by the end of the race to all and sundry... Its a disgrace.
